    Unoffical Berlina BLACK NSX Thread

Docjohn: I like the look of the 15/16 OEM wheels, though admittedly the flashy chrome isn't my favorite. I may pick up another set of OEM 15/16s, which I plan to sand down and paint black. And then see which I like better.

    Regularly scheduled coffee meets

I guess we won't be bringing home many souvenirs from a Napa run. But that's okay - we get up there often enough! This makes me curious, though. We have one of those wireless barbecue thermometers. Maybe I'll put the transmitter in the trunk next time we go for a long ride, and monitor how hot...

    Suggestion for tire patch kit

Thanks, all - I've ordered two of the patch kits from Harbor Freight (one for the NSX, one for the Miata). My goal is to never find out how well they work. Cheers, -A

    Suggestion for tire patch kit

Whoops! I wasn't clear. I'm not looking to repair the OEM spare tire. I'm looking to carry a can of Fix-a-Flat and a patch kit instead. Was looking for recommendations for a patch kit.

    Suggestion for tire patch kit

Hi, all, Which tire patch kit should I buy? Any specific recommendations? Background: The spare tire on our new '91 is all cracked. Probably worthless. Given that we live in the Bay Area, and nearly all the time will be in the Bay Area within easy AAA range, we feel safe not having a spare...

    Regularly scheduled coffee meets

Napa run sounds like fun! (How many cases of wine can one fit into the trunk of an NSX? I'm dying to find out.)

Need to RAISE the NSX an inch to stop scraping

Hi, folks! Well, the new old suspension has been installed - and the car doesn't scrape any more! Yay! Plus, as the car is a l-i-t-t-l-e bit higher, it's slightly easier to enter/exit. Don said that in a month, after everything has settled, we should get a front-end alignment. Total cost was...

Need to RAISE the NSX an inch to stop scraping

Hi, all, The "new" OEM struts & springs arrived today, and I delivered the NSX to Hill Top Auto (Daly City) have them installed. Don is also going to take care of the timing belt, water pump, etc. I'll let y'all know how everything comes out after I get the car back next week. Thanks again for...

Need to RAISE the NSX an inch to stop scraping

Whoops! Noticed that the beauty shots I posted earlier were cropped wrong - that's what I get for not checking the final exports from Lightroom.

Need to RAISE the NSX an inch to stop scraping

The TB quote included the water pump - he mentioned it specifically and said he'd "take care of everything," but I didn't ask him for more details. I was still in shock over the $1,700 figure!

Need to RAISE the NSX an inch to stop scraping

Thx, GoldNSX... All - I don't see a full suspension (argh, one sold yesterday!), but as someone pointed out, someone is selling a set of OEM springs for $30. Should I wait for the full suspension, or simply change the springs (disregarding Don the NSX mechanic's advice)?

Need to RAISE the NSX an inch to stop scraping

Hi! Am back after meeting with Don the NSX guy in Daly City. He agreed that the car had been lowered (by too much, he said), and recommended picking up four OEM springs — and if possible with their struts. He said that the current struts, after having been used with the lowering springs, would...

Need to RAISE the NSX an inch to stop scraping

Hello, everyone - thanks for all the great thoughts! I live in the San Francisco Bay Area - just south of S.F., near the airport. A Google search brought up Hilltop Auto Service in Daly City (very close to me) as an NSX Specialist. He has lots of NSX comments on his website...

Need to RAISE the NSX an inch to stop scraping

Thanks, folks - you are amazing. I'm feeling very happy about the NSX, and even happier since I've stumbled across this message board. It's a blast to drive - we haven't owned a sports car since I bought a new Mustang GT in 1989. I'm very intrigued about restoring the springs (while still...

Need to RAISE the NSX an inch to stop scraping

Hello, folks, New NSX owner here - please be gentle. <smile> My 1991 black beauty scrapes on everything - my driveway, my office's driveway, the grocery store's parking lot entryway. The car has 205/50ZR15 on the front, 225/50ZR16 on the rear. Am wondering: 1. Is it possible to raise the car...
