Does locking car, thus arming alarm, drain battery faster than not doing so?

Most multi-meters have a current measurement function. The best solution is to disconnect the positive battery cable and insert the meter in series. Note the current with the door locked and unlocked, and you have your answer. If you take your measurement and divide it into the amp-hour...

LoveFab predicts NSX 2.0 will have over 700hp

Hmmm! Let's see. The new FGT will have 600+ ponies from a 3.5 liter Ecoboost TTV6. If Ford can do it then Honda surely can! Now add two electric motors in the front at 50 HP apiece and a 75 HP electric motor in the transaxle (for reference the Chevy Volt two motors at 149 and 80 HP). North...

    NSX 2.0 Positives

A Chevy Volt qualifies, so why not the NSX? The Volt has a gasoline engine. In Quiet mode the NSX dosen't use gasoline (I think).

The last person I would want to have work on my NSX is someone who didn't want to. Be thankful he was being forthright with you. Gary

    My worst day ever.

Howard, I am so sorry for your loss. This is the time to dwell on the gift of 60 years, a blessing few get to enjoy. My wife (Jan of 45 years) and I send our condolences to you. May God bless you, in this difficult time. PS: I truly enjoyed our time riding together at NSXPO2014.

Knocking noise at low speed only when accelerating or maintaining speed

I have had good luck diagnosing this sort of thing by putting the car up in the air on a lift or jack stands and having someone "drive" the car with someone listening underneath. You can simulate a load (acceleration) by applying the parking brake for a short time. You should be able to locate...

    Code 1399 and TCS light

When you touch both leads on your cheap ohm meter together, what does it read? If it reads a couple of tenths of an ohm, you've got your answer. Many cheap ohm meters have a few tenths of an ohm just from the lead resistance which is added to all readings. Gary

    Leave Chrome or have refinished

Hey Shawn, Want to trade? I have the stock grey 02+ rims on a silverstone NSX. The problem is that the grey doesn't match silverstone. It's just close enough to look like a mistake. I would prefer the chrome. Gary

A whistle from engine bay. possible A/C problem

Mine is a true whistle (a pure tone). It is not a screech, or a sound usually associated with friction or bearing noise (I think). It is RPM and engine LOAD sensitive. I'm wondering if is a small exhaust leak.

Shawn, That sounds like my symptoms also. I don't hear it at idle so it's hard to locate. Gary

A whistle from engine bay. possible A/C problem

Mine only occurs at highway speeds, and only at certain loads and RPMs, which makes it very hard to diagnose.

I have a whistle in my engine as well. Does the whistle go away when you turn off the climate control?
