Think of it this way, a red lens filters out all colors except red. A red LED emits a lot more red light than a white LED. Hence, white LEDs are not as bright as red LEDs when filtered with a red lens. (BTW, what color is clear? :confused: )

There are plenty of people who will give you their opinions as to what RPM to shift at during normal driving -- your original question. But something that has not been mentioned is... do NOT skip shift (manual transmission only). I mention this because of your comment about MPG conservation...

There has been plenty of discussions about whether or not the NSX is considered an exotic... mid-engine, rare, performance, materials, etc. What is your opinion... do you think the GT-R is an exotic?

Scions are all about fancy paint jobs and "glow" (i.e. lighting, neons, flashing LEDs, etc.). So, if we were to crash a Scion meet with a group of NSXs, be prepared to explain why our cars are not modded... :biggrin: :biggrin:
