Please keep us posted, mine was able to start up a few times but started smoking after all that happened, towed home, tried to pull it into the garage and that’s when the motor locked up.
My motor seemed locked up at first until it shot the crank position out the side of the motor after all the extra oil came out car turned over no problem. Please keep us posted, mine was able to start up a few times but started smoking after all that happened, towed home, tried to pull it into the garage and that’s when the motor locked up.
replaced crank position sensor and fired up no problem just kept filling the crank case up with oil .My motor seemed locked up at first until it shot the crank position out the side of the motor after all the extra oil came out car turned over no problem.
I think your engine maybe repaired. That crank position sensor probably shot out due to crankcase pressure caused by all the oil backing up in the dry sump basin. I would remove and inspect the dry sump pumps and check for wear on the rotors and housing also check any filter strainers along path for restrictions.replaced crank position sensor and fired up no problem just kept filling the crank case up with oil .
No its running good... When this oil reaches 3,000 miles I'll post the oil sample results... My warranty expires June of 2026 so I may drive it a bit more till then... I Don't want it to fail after the warranty expires... You think Acura will let me pay for another warranty extension?.. I sure will ask them via email....Did your engine blow?

I'm not on FB , but Mike if you can convince some of that group to post here of failures, and whether stock or modded and how Corporate dealt with it, that would be awesome.
I can re-title this thread and make it a sticky so owners can all post here if everyone wants.
Done!I'd say that's a great idea, maybe include a poll if possible. Might help track this.
Done!
I can't believe Cosworth didn't put a screen on the pump inlet. That's race car stuff where you're tearing the engine down every season. On a production car, it's like obvious! Even the VTEC solenoids on the C30 have screens!
The whole motor has to come out to get to the pumpCan they come out with some sort of a retro fit? I'd imagine it's gotta be beyond labor intensive.

Unfortunately I don’t see any other way. There is a feed line that comes from the sump to the oil pump that you can possibly wrap a screen around but that that can cause other issues if something builds up from thereCan anything be done preemptively?
