Hi, Ive been looking at entry level supercars like the R8, NSX, etc. After reading the forum and reading about the engine failure/Lemon buyback and oil pump issues im not sure if I should still consider the nsx. The R8 forums are filled with things like this also though. Ive heard the car is amazing and reliable but these forums posts have me thinking I should get a the GTR or something where if it broke there wouldnt be only 4 used engines on ebay. Its a shame because I saw one in person and the car is beautiful.

I think with the NC1 it is rare and far between. I had a former coworker with a 2021 GTR that had a motor grenade itself. I wouldn't rule out a GTR on that case alone. Usually when looking for reliable vehicle we get focused on the extreme cases and not the number of cases.

A sports car is just as much as Right brain as it is a Left brain decision. You should buy what will make you happy to drive and gaze at....Otherwise buy an accord/camry...With "exotic" cars there are exotic issues/expectations ..that's the fun of it..I would say buying used with anything over 5k miles is a good sign
