Zeitronix Gauge Cluster Install

Someone needs to do an NSX theme.

The S2000 Skin is a very good place to start and modify to match our cars, I have started a new NSX skin but it is very low on my priority list right now. It is a boring tedious process to make a skin, every color and gauge element has to be created as a image graphic them imported into the skin editor, then defined by now it will be displayed, then assigned a color, then a font, then fixed text, then variable text and if you change one thing size wise at the end of the process you have to start over and rework everything you just did. I do not have the time or patients to work on it for more than a couple of hours at a time so it may never get done.

Wow with a navpod I am looking at $3,000. No small amount for gauges. Might have to start with a very basic package and add on. How long do they warranty their stuff?

I believe everything is a 1 year warranty, but I have several systems out there and a few that are over four years old now and have had no issues, they use the Bosch sensor for their wideband and they have proven to last me a long time, replacement O2's are $80.00. The rest of the stuff is simple wires and sensors so nothing to really fail. The DashDaq is made by DrewTech and they offer a 1 yr warranty as well. The DashDaq is sort of future proof as well, if you go full AEM ECU in the future you can read the 26 sensors from its data stream and display them on the DashDaq. The DashDaq route is not a cheap option, but there really are not to many devices that can do everything that it can.

If you can get by with the LCD or standard round gauges you could have AFR, Boost, Fuel Pressue, IAT, EGT, RPM, TPS and squeek in under a grand without ZAVT-1 sounding device.

Hey Dave, do you know of anyone else that makes a similiar unit but with a larger display?

Not really, there are many stand alone data loggers but most are little black boxes with a bunch of inputs and a serial connection to software running on a laptop. The display devices seem to be lagging far behind the data aquisition side. There are a few system that will overlay video so a normal LCD TV screen or monitor could be used, display quality will suffer as most are at standard video quality.

There was the HKS Camp system but it has a bunch of limitations and I am not sure HKS is in the US any more.

Aim Sports makes a cool display but it is ment to replace your entire OEM gauge cluster and act as a display device for a Stan-a-lone ECU and it is expensive to build a complete system.

Stack makes some of the coolest stuff out there but you can buy three DashDaq's for the price of a complete Stack system.

I bet that AFR board will fit where the clock is.

Can fit probably 3 there

I hope someday there will be a good Windows based Tablet PC that's small enough to be mounted on the center console and has a USB. To me, that would be a great way to build a control center with the following capabilities.

* Tune AEM F/IC or EMS in real-time
* View Zietronix read out and control alarms via the ZDL software and data log
* Have a full Windows based multi-media system (Pandora, Video, Iheartradio, etc...) with Wifi and/or 4G networking capability.

If AEM had a iPad or Android app to tune their software and if Zietronix did the same.. i'd have already done this. For now, if I had OBD2 i'd have gotten the DashDaq. If I end up with an EMS the Dashdaq would also be a good option.

Maybe. You can't just look at the size of the LCD screen, you must take into account the entire dimensions of the board. It might fit, but why limit yourself to only one reading when you can have four times the info sitting in the same spot?

exactly what I thought (but he asked ). The hacker/tweaker only displays Lamba/AFR IIRC too. If I could use it for all my sensors I would have embeded 6-8 of these into the center console where and empty radio opening currently is and simply label accordingly.

If money was no object i'd give ApKarian a call and have him build me an S2k cluster with all the zeitronix LCD displays embeded next to it therefore all the readings are right where they need to be. It's only money right!

There's a lot of empty space towards the sides.

I will add the filter tomorrow and post pictures in the garage as well as outside with the top off so you can see for yourselves. I'm happy with the setup and Dave's setup.

that looks pretty cool why am I just now seeing this thread.

remember I help other NSX owners out bottom line.

Yes you do my friend, yes you do. Couldn't have done this without your generosity. Glad you like it and thanks again..

Dave can the ZT-2 take in a 5th sensor and log even if the LCD can't display? The dillema is I can't not have EGT. And I need 4 more:

AIT
FUEL PRESSURE
AFR
BOOST

AIT
FUEL PRESSURE
AFR
BOOST

AIT will be user 1 input will be logged as a voltage and converted in the software
Fuel Pressure will be user 2 input will be logged and displayed as a pressure
AFR is AFR and is a dedicated sensor input
Boost is MAP and is a dedicated sensor input
RPM is a dedicated input
TPS is a dedicated input

So you need a ZT-2, sensors and display device (LCD or Gauge)
