Comptech is a different story; they have business ventures with dealers. Comptech also has a long history of being a sponsor/supporter of NSXCA and the Sacramento Chapter. The dealer initiated the invite to Comptech.

Hi guys, have I missed anything? :biggrin: I understand that there is supposed to be a BBQ at Stockton Acura on July 9th. Sounds like fun to me. Good thing I submitted my registration form :tongue: so I can help the dealer get an accurate count of how many may attend. Seems only fair considering the cost, time, space and energy being expended by everyone concerned.

Now some of you seem concerned about privacy/future solicitation issues. Fair and it's a valid concern. Then all one has to do is give your name, city, phone number, and model year. I'm not sure you can do much with that except maybe make name tags in advance for us. But if even that bothers you, then don't fax the form. No big deal right? :smile: I mean it's no big deal....RIGHT!

So let's all get back into the spirit that this was organize with and get together with a bunch of other NSX enthusiast with no other agendas but to enjoy good company, food, and a great car. Sounds good to me.

an **excellent* *idea! if the dealer is unreceptive to supporting you in this, i'm sure if you:

* posted to the regional forum your availability merchandise at the carshow/expo

* brought some of your high quality merchandise with you for review/on-site purchase

* brought clipboard/order forms for on-site purchase w/incentives as you see fit

i'm sure with all the talk in this thread about "supporting the nsx community and vendors", everyone recognizes the benefit for you *and* all interested attendees

to be fully buzzword-compliant, this is a win-win for everyone at the event... nsx owners get instant access to - if i read the reviews correctly - great and high quality products at a wonderful price.

i don't see any competing products on the comptech or acura of stockton websites... shouldn't be any conflict in that regard.

Wait, I will be there that day. I don't have any intention to sell anything and will not bring anything. I only do my HID on Prime as a hobby and I am having too much business as it is now. I want to see Comptech there but I have to disagree that they are given special permission. I like to see Stoptech or SOS alike if they are invited.

Reminder for the East Bay + Tri-Valley to Stockton caravan.

Looks like I probably won't have my NSX (it goes to the body shop today to start the process of taking care of that incident I had Father's day weekend), but I'm still going and will still set up the caravan location.

In order to get to Stockton on time - for me on time means early (and in time for those getting the hand car wash) we should be on the road, leaving Dublin by 9am. That will get us to the dealership right about 10am (9:45 for some of you - you know who you are ) What do you all think? Is that a good time to leave Dublin?

The final caravan meet-up spot will be Dublin, CA. From Dublin, lets all head to Stockton together.

Directions from all Bay Area locations:
1. Get from where you are to I-580 East (heading to Stockton)
2. In Dublin/Pleasanton exit Hacienda Blvd
3. Go left (north) over the freeway. You are now on Hacienda.
4. Make right at the gas station (Shell, I think) into the shopping center/entrance for Macaroni Grill and the movie theater. If you pass the entrance, no biggie, just make the next right and head in the back entrance.
5. Go straight back (past the movie theater, which will be on your right) to the end of the road. You will see Best Buy.
6. I will be waiting in the BB parking lot with a banner that reads "Acura NSX", to the left of the store.

Those of you coordinating other caravan locations, please PM me with your cell phone number. I will PM you back with mine. That way, if one of the groups is missing at Best Buy at 9am, I can call you.

I am always concerned about identity theft issues but do not see how providing a name and address are going to allow someone to steal your identity in any meaningful way without a DOB or SSN. Oh well, I registered and gave my mail drop address. But I guess a little fear is a good thing these days.

Believe me I know identity theft exists; it is my sincere hope the dealership appreciates that in today's society, they must exercise the utmost care when compiling information and they had best not share that information with anyone.
