Yellow Deli Lunch Run on 11-17

I had another fun Sunday, thank you very much, Les. It was exciting driving right behind you instead of mid pack!

I got home at 3:26 PM and had enough daylight to wash and detail spray my NSX. That' makes me feel better since it's been three drives since I've washed it.

Hey, you guys who drove highway 76, did you come across a group of about 6 Corvettes? I had them come up behind me as I was getting to the 5. I was wishing I was with my NSX buds. We were driving north on 5.

The drive was great and the chili was delicious. I want to thank JC for letting me shotgun and both Les and JC for planning another great "last drive"

Patty - we flew up the 78 and the 5 home. We might have been back in San Clemente before you even reached the 5! Didn't see any pod of Corvettes though.

Kyle - you are more than welcome and thanks for picking up my lunch tab.

Tim - get your brakes fixed!

Gregory - get your brakes fixed!

Robert - Dramamine.....

To everyone one else - a very nice way to finish 2013. Beautiful weather, nice twisty roads, a great lunch spot and lots of laughs. Thanks to you all. A very fun day.

 thats why I drive OEM slow.

When I grow up, I want brakes on Greg's cars

One kidney for sale...anybody?....Blood Type B! Great condition, almost new, free shipping to lower 48 states, cleaned with lots of water daily.

I STUPIDLY FORGOT that Jill and I are taking an NSX trip up to Cambria/Monterrey that weekend. We can't make it but wish we could. :frown:

We're heading up to Cambria/Hearst next weekend ;) Any food places stand out?

i'm game +1! now just to try out this new Speedy Surface Prep Towel , polish, wax and swap back to the street wheels / brakes oh and get smogged! ;)

Well I got smogged, waxed (the car not me), compounds removed but my brake rotors were warped and I really didn't feel like having the whole frontend shake at every brake application... See ya a next years first drive ;)

Great lunch! Well, I can only comment on the lunch, it was good enough to put me to sleep. I didn't get home until 5pm because I had to pull over to take a nap from the chilli and lemon bars I ate.

Patty - I saw the group of corvettes, I had the same thoughts and it looks like there were belittling you.

Tim - I didn't know you are not from SD. Oh well. Yes, its OK!

Les and JC - Thanks for setting up lunch.

Yeah, one of them just had to get in front of me. Then I noticed the rest of them. A few of them drove like little boys in their toys. I just thought pfffttt. My car is so much better looking and rarer. In the end, I was way off in front of them and was glad to leave them behind. They must have gotten off in San Clemente or some where. BTW, I was tired, too. I closed my eyes at a red light within 3 miles of my home and jerked awake.

I am NOT from SD....I am from O-side!
U r messed up. I really want to forgive you Senor Hugo.....just take me out to Monterey Park for all-you-can eat hot pot and we'll call it.....water under the bridge:biggrin:

This was probably one of the best drives we've had. No one in front of us most of the time and the few that were let us by at the next turnout. We were able run at a pace that was fun for everyone with the exception of Robert's passenger Kat. Lunch was great like last time but was even better because I think we were all laughing as much or more than eating with Hugo providing us with plenty to laugh at. Dude I still don't know how you put away that much food with such a small body. I'm glad we decided to fit in one more drive and look forward to next year. Hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday season.

Jill and I didn't make the Yellow Deli run because we were in Cambria/Hearst/Monterey/Solvang this past weekend with the NSX. We should all definitely think about doing a group / overnight / weekend run. Les ?????? Highly recommend Sea Chest on Moonstone Beach just outside Cambria or Linn's IN Cambria. If you are going up Hwy1 MAKE SURE YOU STOP AT THE Big Sur Coast Gallery & Cafe.....best food we had all weekend......even better than Ventana or Nepenthe (and cheaper). So Les.....How about a Last Last Last Run of 2013 back to yellow Deli so Jill and I can join ??

Forgot to upload these! Looking into the radio currently, JC. It goes for around $30 on Amazon! Also a little something for Greg since he was in the clear and I had a chance to snap one.

Hey MrTimmy, since you are so sincere to use your 1000th post for all-you-can-eat hotpot, I will definitely take you out when you are in the area.

Ok, I got it, you are not from SD... but Oceanside... lmao:biggrin:

You're welcome. Here's a pic of the place. Seriously awesome food. On a par with Yellow Deli. All made from scratch while u wait. Awesome view at this location and there is a "nest" of California Condors (we saw 4). Jill fell in love with this "Dr Seuss" bird house and had to bring it home. There was no room in the car and it rode in her lap all the way home.

Alan, I know you mentioned 12-8 but that whole weekend is our company Christmas party at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort so that's a no go for us. I think you also mentioned 12-15 but there's a rumor of an annual drive that day. But don't let this stop you from organizing a lunch run on 12-8 as I'm sure there will be others that have missed the last 2 that will want to go.

I'm sorry she got sick. It just feels terrible, I know, as I've hurled as a passenger on two S2000 drives back east. I've learned to take it before a drive. After you feel sick it's too late.
