Holy Cow, what a nice guy!

"In the normal world of ours, we can only dream of owning “a” supercar, however, to dream of owning 10 supercars, either you’ve got to be a lazy bum with a lot of lazybones or you are someone with a lot of oil wells in the backyard. Of course, the second one sounds better and according to a report, a Middle Eastern buyer has decided to purchase 10 limited edition Aston Martin One-77 supercar for his family. At the 1.7 million price tag, One-77 supercar is limited to just 77 units of these exotic beasts, but owning 10 would mean $23 million. The One-77 is made using a carbon fiber monocoque to keep the weight at an absolute minimum – just 3,300 lbs — and the road-burning power comes from a 7.3-liter V12 making 750-hp with a top speed at 220 mph. So, if you haven’t seen money doing the talks before, I think you just did."

they had to 'justify' the price and make it 'different and extreme' but by doing so the understated elegance, which is astons forte, is gone.

I could be falling victim to a stereotype of sorts, but I have a feeling this particular individual did not obtain the funds to purchase these vehicles through digging ditches, working 70+ hours a week for decades, or risking a huge amount of earned capital in an at risk business/investment operation.

I guess he's still a nicer guy than someone in his position who didn't buy everyone in his family AM's, that much I'll concede. Frankly, I'd rather have a vanquish. I can't remotely afford to track it and the run of the mill AM has enough "character" as is and looks much better.

Am I reading correctly that the car weighs 3300 lbs. even though it has more carbon than a coal mine? They must have included one big fat-ass behind the wheel...

The car only weighs 2900lbs. All of the spare cash in the trunk weighs 400lbs.

silly article...

how does (10) 1.7 mil cars equal $23 mil?
"1.7 million" is presumably in Euro (), thus the current exchange rate of ~$1.37/€ x 1.7€ million x 10 {A.M. One-77's} = ~$23.3 million.

Late February, when the article was likely composed, the exchange rate was actually ~$1.35/€. So, $1.35/€ x 1.7€ million x 10 {A.M. One-77's} = ~23 million.
