Why isn't Formula 1 more popular here in the U.S. ?

If F1 put the money into advertising that NASCAR does F1 would have the same following. Now it is too late as there is only one weekend per week for the masses to watch racing.

edit...I also think there may be a more level Playing field with NASCAR then there is with F1.
 
F1 is too complex for your average NASCAR fan, because they have to turn left AND right. :biggrin: Plus it's hard for the average fan to relate to companies who dont even sell cars here (Renault). :smile:

It's only in North America where F1 does not have a big following, though. They spend hundreds of millions on advertising.

Formula One is the most watched sport on the planet right now.
 
Not enough passing. If your car holds together and you have a spot in the front row you usually win. Not enough varity of winners. One team dominates for the season. The cars and drivers are the best in the world its not that good to watch.
