Who else gives 30% discount for parts?

I see Larry beat me to the post, anyway here is my feedback.

Ken and others, I just called Niello Acura to get the story as I too was caught off guard with your post.

1) Their wholesale pricing to all other mechanics is 20% off list price so he was trying to institute a consistent pricing system. Please be aware that there are many "list" prices; we are using Acura's list price not an artificially inflated list price - we had this discussion years ago when we secured the 30% off.

HTH. I will post more if I have additional info.

Hi Hrant,

Thanks for all the legwork, hopefully you have a bit more leverage than us regular folks, LOL.

Note that when I called today I was told that they don't keep records of prior orders (which is completely bogus since they have been able to pull my old orders in the past) So without records how can they tell if it's a repeat customer??

I've purchased many parts over the years and have *never ever* gotten free shipping from them, and everytime that I ask for shipment I ask for a signature *release* on the package, but they *always* forget to send the order that way and I end up having to pick up the package at UPS because I can't be waiting at home for parts :(

When a signature is required and no one is available for the package, UPS leaves a note indicating that they came and could not deliver. If you look at the note, it has a place where you can sign, authorizing them to leave it without any further signature when they bring it for the second try.

Ken (2slow2speed), I am still working on this, since we locals have an incentive too you know :D

Just got a call from Vince Gregory, the GM at Niello Acura, on a different matter, and I brought the issue up as an fyi since the initail deal was signed between him and me with a handshake some 3 years ago ....... ;)

As I said, can't promise anything if the volumes are going down; after all, they are in this business to make money and the benefits have to be a mutual win/win.

BTW: I guess you have not had the bad luck of having to deal with the "Signature required on delivery (in person)" box being checked on the InfoNotice, if that box is checked then you *must* sign for the package in person either by being at home or by doing a "will call" for the package later on.

The back of the UPS InfoNotice states:

Signatures Required:
  • If the "Signature required on delivery" box is checked, the driver must receive a signature and hand the package(s) to a person.
  • If the "Adult signature required on delivery" box is checked, the driver must receive an adult signature and hand the package(s) to the adult (min. 21 years of age).

I've tried to ask to sign for a waiver at UPS but they don't allow that either :(

Anyways, enough about the UPS suckage, back to the regular programming..

Ken

I should also note that as long as we are talking about 30% offfers, DaliRacing's prices on OEM products are very competitive as well. In fact, when I was looking for Zanardi springs, Dali's price was a few dollars cheaper than the 30% discount from list price! Don't ask me how he can offer such prices!!

So do your homework.

I can match most and sometimes beat most dealers prices, so feel free to contact me for a price qoute on any oem parts.
Best Regards
Mike

I have purchased all my parts for my NSX and RL from Joe at Acura of Augusta 800-736-6818 Ext 1. He has given me 30% off and free shipping. You don't have to belong to any clubs to purchase parts from him. Last purchase on 9/02 was for a NSX rearview mirror (for V1 remote mod) - list price 129.61 - his price 90.73. :)

But that doesnt work when you just HAVE to have it now! :)
Yea, ups is pretty bad. I try to use Fedex whenever possible.
Once i was waiting at home all day on a friday for a part i needed for the weekend. Around 630 pm i go to the bathroom (with the front door wide open). The guy walked in, set the info notice on my door, and left. idiots

for oem parts, i ordered parts from acuraoemparts.com. if i was to purchase the parts i needed here in oklahoma, i would have paid $913.37 plus tax. and by getting the parts through acuraoemparts.com, i only payed $664.84 plus $10 shipping and no tax. the site is very simple to use, all you gotta do it punch in the part number or just look it up.

Joe is great. Quick, convenient, easy, and just as you said 30% off with free shipping. Thanks.

Wow, 30% discount andfree shipping!!
I am in that very business and the person selling the parts is making pretty much nothing on the sale. Definitely counting on selling parts in LARGE volume to be able to justify the shipping costs alone.
