I want to replace my STOCK HID's with new bulbs with a rating of 6000k. I found a bunch of information on replacement systems, but they were all for 91-01. So I was wondering if there is a replacement 6k bulb for the 02' that I can buy and switch them out, or do I need to buy a whole HID kit? Thanks in advance...

You can replace just the bulbs with the 6K. I think 'whitensx' (?) sells them and I got pretty much the best deal through him. I got a pair for $100.00 or so for the D2S which is what you need.The light clor is perfect, not yellow, not blue, just perfect white/blue. However, imho, the visibility (luminosity?) is reduced somewhat (15%) which takes a little more getting used to..
for the best i try to stick with JDM or German made parts for lighting.
i was using the older phillips D2S 85122 HID bulbs and it was a bit plain looking. a yellowish/white color. of course it was better than stock but i wasnt getting any range. i think this is what the older lexus and g35 was using.
the newer phillips 85122+ is brighter and whiter than the old phillips 85122 and Osram Xenarc 66040 bulbs.
though it does not give that "color enhancing" look like a 6000k or 8000k,
85122+ is the one used on most current high end vehicles with projection HID and has that purple flickering look.
i switch mine out often just for pure plain fun.
i have 6000k here and a factory 4300k 85122 at different angles.
im no longer using D2S bulbs, im running Xetronic D2C 6000k on both.

Does this mean that any D2S bulb will fit into the OEM 02 bulb socket and can still use the OEM ballast? Thanks.

You don't need 6000K too blue..if you want the euro look! its 1200K.
you only have to change the bulbs.

Philips Ultinon 6000k D2S HID bulbs are worth looking into, as well. IMHO, they are the benchmark 6000k HID bulbs, producing crystal-white light w/ a subtle blue halo.
