I am in Canada and have been quoted some outrageous prices.

I've searched, but I also want relatively current prices.

Just curious about all of you.

Thanks in advance

I read somewhere here that the window regulators can be sent out to be rebuilt. I can't find the where I read this though. Someone please chime in. Thanks

A new window regulator the last I heard of was about $500 each side.

The window regulator was produced with an issue that even if you replace it with a new one, ultimately it will fail or slow down again.

Hugo (Hugabuga) created a fix that he had change some parts to make the regulator move much smoother and faster.

Read the thread below to see if this is a better fit for you.

BTW, Hugo is doing an US regulator tour to assist us in fixing this issue. Not sure if he's heading to Canada but you should pm him and try to find out.

Good luck,

Frankie

I was told the drivers side is $200 more than the passenger side? Is this true? I don't think it was that much of a difference when I looked a long time ago.

Is yours broken or just slow? My drivers was broken and ran around $520 shipped from oemacuraparts.com. Passenger side was glacial in speed, but I packed the runners with the correct grease and it's a lot better now. Not as fast as the driver side, but definitely bearable and better than another $520.

How good is hagabuga window fix? How long should it last? I want to get his kit but am worried that if it beaks down the road and if he has moved on and no longer sells repair parts, then what a man to do?

For repair of things like broken cables, you might try one of these:

I had a broken cable from my passenger window repaired by an outfit in Brooklyn a few years ago...could have been the guys at the second link, operating under a new name. Anyway, it was 119 and well worth it. I shipped the regulator to them and got it back a few days later with a much better (stronger) cable.

I have since installed Hugo's kit on the driver's side and the kit, along with fresh urea grease in the tracks, made a big difference. Of course you will want to replace the oem window cable retainers ("thingies") with after-market "fix-it thingies".

The Hugabuga kit includes a steel sleeve that will never fail and some nylon bits that might eventually wear out. But SOS sells a version of the nylon pads, if that gives you a warm fuzzy.

If you think your NSX will outlast Hugo's support, just get two kits. Cheap insurance. And you will probably be able to sell the extra one a few years down the road for at least as much as you paid for it if Hugo does go away and you don't need it any more.
