Wheel fitments for NSX

Another one I forgot about:

Rear: 18x10 +25, tire size: 265/35/18. Tire hit fender liner on bumps only. +27 to +28 would probably have worked if I went with the same tire size.

Synth what about an 18x9.75 +20 on a lowered car? Not gonna work? It would be 3mm (1/8") in from a 18x10 +20, so same outside position as 18x10 +23 which is really close to what you had. Maybe with a slightly narrower tire...or shaving a few mm off the wheel's hub surface.

Need some help!

I'm looking to get new rims but want to make sure I can fit a BBK later. The specs to the rims:

F: 18 x 8.5 +38
R: 19 x 10.5 +32

My last set of rims (Varrstoen) were:
F: 18 x 8 +35 (215/35r18)
R: 19 x 10.5 +29 (275/30r19)

^^ The shape of the wheel has a lot to do with that not just sizing.

Neither size is ideal, I think your fronts are too wide, but I think the 38 will definitely clear anything.

If you don't want to stretch your tires get the 7.5.

Opinions on 17x9 +40 non-staggered and suggestions for tire sizes up front.

Willing to roll the fenders and running a track oriented alignment.

Maybe an odd question, but does anyone run 16/16 wheels? If so, what tire sizes? I've searched around and haven't found much info.

OK people, I hope these posts help since I see so many threads about the same "eternal" question, "what rims fit my car" or "will these fit" so here we go...

I am going to list what fits in the two most popular size combos:

- 17"/18"

- 18"/19"

... with a little deduction you will also be able to determine wether your 15/16, 16/17, 17/17, 18/18 combos will work too.

So here we go:

18"/19" -

Front wheels:

- 18X7.5, +45 (very inset) to +30 (very flush and depending on tire choice, possibly risky)

- 18X8, +48 (again very inset) to +33 (again very flush, use caution - and narow tire)

- 18X8.5, +48 (yes very inset but the rim is wider) to +42 ( it should be noted that the tire will be very, very stretched and this is not for everyone)

Rear wheels:
*** It MUST be noted that the NSX suspension geometry is such that when lowering the car, the rear will pull the tire inwards significantly, allowing a lower offset - lower number means wheel sticks out more - thus your wheel that was "flush" at stock height will no longer be flush, keep this in mind and know that the lower offset REAR wheels listed here will only work with lowered cars*** - wheels marked (*) are for lowered cars -

- 19X9 (very narrow wheel but can work, not "optimal") +40 to +30*

- 19X9.5 +45 to +28*

- 19X10 +45 to +28*

- 19X10.5 +45 to +29* ( at the lower offsets your car will need to be quite low and use a stretched tire (265/30/19) to clear fenders)

- 19X11 +45 to +36*

17"/18"

Front wheels:

17X7 +40 to +30

17X7.5 +44 to +32

17X8 +48 to +33

17X8.5 +48 to +40

Rear wheels:

18X8.5 +40 to +30 (this width NOT recommended but will work)

18X9 +40 to +30 (minimum rec'd width)

18X9.5 +45 to +33

18X10 +45 to +30

18X10.5 +45 to +30

I am going to say that these are only my estimates for wheel fitment and they probably don't agree with what everyone else says but I have spent a long time fitting wheels to the NSX and these are MY findings.

USE CAUTION WHEN FITTING WHEELS/TIRES - AND COMMON SENSE

Hey Angus thanks for posting this thread. i have a 91 nsx and its all stock and i wanted to put some wheels on it. i want to still have all the preformance and handling of the car but i also want it to look nice and have a nice flush low fit. nothing to low tho. i am totaly new to this and dont know anything about this. what should my wheel spec be? do i need to get coilovers or new springs? i dont wanna strech the tire ether if i have to it would be very little.

What is your suspension set up? I had 18x8.5 +38 previously through Work wheels and they rubber on full lock. Had an issue with it hitting the fender liner and upper portion of the out fender crown till I added a degree of camber.

Work Emotion Kai 18x8.5 +38 rubbed on 225/35/18. I tried 215/35/18 which would have been ideal for resolving the issue but looked terrible on a 18x8.5. These wheels would clear my Brembo Indy kit though.

As Turbo mentioned the face of the wheel can also determine clearance along with issues I have experienced.

I just bought these wheels, what size tires do you think I should get?
They didnt have 18z8 for the fronts :/ so I had to get 18X8.5.

What ever you do, DO NOT put 40 series on the front. Everyone recommends 215/35/18 or 225/35/18 for the fronts. I believe some guys are running 265/30/19 for the rears and even as wide as 275/30/19. But don’t quote me on the size. I’m no pro at this. All I know for SURE is don’t put 40 series on the front. You won’t be able to turn at all. Also your offset may play a big part in which tires you choose .
