I'm a strong believer in "symptoms". For example, if a car has always had its preventive maintenance done on time, and/or he has kept all the service records, that is a symptom that the owner is extremely fastidious about taking care of his car. This is the kind of car that is very desirable to buy.

Similarly, if you see a car that has door dings and other problems, and/or has skipped or delayed scheduled maintenance past the time when it is due, then there could easily be other, serious problems beyond those. This is the kind of car that is more risky to buy.

I would like to see what Acura recommend for the 30,60,90 big services or what ever mileage the service is done...
You can find the recommended services in the FAQ, under Maintenance - Schedule. However, the schedule there is for a '91. Some of the service intervals were increased for the '97, such as the timing belt, which was changed to 7 years or 105K miles. The fact that he had it done sooner is another good sign.

Buy the '97! Quick, before someone else buys it out from under you!
