I am sad to say I use a cablemodem as well. I miss my DSL. Your downloads may be great but the uploads are slow. IF you only surf then this is usually fine. I like to video conference as well as other things that require better upload speeds.

2150 kbps from work... I tought more was possible since we have a FAST line here (my company owns teh Swiss backbone). Probably it is the distance between sender/receiver that act as a bottleneck.
