Whats wrong with this??

Go ahead and throw 10k away on a four wheel drive, 4 cylinder "NSX". I am constantly amazed that people continue to ask if scams like this are real.

It is very unlikely that you are going to find a functional NSX for less then 18k at the very minimum. If you want to satisfy your curiosity you can feel free to call the person that claims to be the owner but I wouldn't really proceed any further then that. There are so many scams on the Internet that even when you see an NSX with a realistic price, you still need to keep your guard up.

Wasn't seriously going to bother with that one. Just posting it.

Me too! If someone is that clueless I wonder how they get through the day in one piece. Plus, if the car is real, DO NOT TELL EVERYONE ABOUT IT!! Go buy the car before someone else does. Freaking heck!! If those scams were ever real deals, the last thing I would do is tell everyone about it.

We should start a 419eater type thread and really mess with these people.

I got bored during a conference call and decided to play with the guy for a bit. Here is the email exchange since yesterday:

Hi,
The 1992 Acura NSX is in perfect shape, no dents or scratches,
everything is as stated in the description. It's just that I have
recent events in my life that have shocked me and put me into the
wall.
MUST SELL price is $10,900.

Good morning Bill,

I would like to come by to inspect it. Kindly advise when and where I may see it. I would also like to bring cash so I can take it back with me.

I won't ask you to send me the money because you haven't seen / test driven the car
yet. Here is how we can do this. My suggestion is eBay Purchase Protection for the
transaction. The financial part will be managed by them. The only thing I request from you
is to make the payment to eBay Purchase Protection but no money will reach my account until
the car is inspected. No offense, but I need to be sure the person who receives the car is
verified by a legitimate party.
Look how this works:
1. I will contact eBay and give all the info about this deal.
2. They will email us the forms which are needed for our deal.
3. I will send the car to your location and you will send the money at eBay.
4. After you have the car and decide on keeping it, eBay will forward the funds.
All documents, including owner's manual in English, clear title and bill of sale will be
provided along with the car. If the car is not suitable for you from any reason, your money
will be fully refundable and I will take the car back on my cost. I'm sure it won't be the
case because it's a state of art looking and working machine. So if you agree with my
conditions, I will forward your details to eBay in order to open the case.

Best wishes,
William.

Good morning again William,

In case I misspoke I didn't mean to suggest that I would send the money first but I am willing to meet you in person, inspect the car and then pay cash on the spot to be able to drive it away. Kindly forward the address where the inspection and transaction may be completed. Since this car was not listed on Ebay, their Purchase Protection option would not be viable.

He's just going to bail from the conversation. Try to get him to send you a pic of him standing next to the car or get him to send a pic of him holding up sign saying something funny. Make him really think you're going to send money and you'll be surprised what you can get these Nigerians to do. 419eater has some good scam baiting tips and hints here. I just created a quick gmail account and emailed him too.

Here's what I've got so far--

Hello William,

I'm sorry you have to get rid of this beautiful car. Can you email me a picture of the engine? Where are you located? If you are close I would like to see the car. I have never owned an NSX before but I love them. Can you describe what it is like to drive it? I am ready to purchase as soon as possible.

Thank you,
John

Oh yeah. I'm John by the way.

Hello William,

That is a nice looking engine. It looks like it is in very good condition. I am 6'3". Do you think I would fit in the car? How tall are you? Do you have a picture of yourself in the car?

Thank you,
John

Wow. He's 7'4". That I didn't think a Yao Ming sized person would fit in an NSX. I guess I was wrong.

Hello William,

This sounds good. I am going to finance this through the nsxprime bank here in the united states. For them to allow me to purchase a car without seeing it I need to say that I know the seller personally. They will ask me for a picture. I need a picture of you with today's date holding a sign that says "nsxprime". Will you do this for me?

Thank you,
John

It's been a couple hours since I sent him the last email. I hope I get a good pic back!

I just created a quick gmail account and emailed him too.

I hope you didn't think I would let you steal this gem without me putting up a fight. I sent him this email:

Good morning William,

I had heard a "competitor" was trying to bid on this car and I wanted to make sure that I still had the chance to buy it. If necessary, I would prefer to keep this quiet but I will offer $1000 more than your next best offer.

Kindly advise.

Thank you.

I accept your offert, please send me your details,to open a case, and the company will contact you asap,to let this happen...

Great news William!!!!!

Let me know what info you need. You had mentione that you would have Ebay email me to the packet of forms so they can do that to this email address.

Thanks again!

I wonder where he is located since the email header indicates he is in a time zone zone that is four hours ahead of Eastern.

I am out with business, and i dont have time for this kind of jokes,if you are serious buyer contact the company, the car is in their possesion, [email protected]

I'm sorry you think these are jokes. My bank informed me that they have dealt with a lot of automobile fraud and they need this for underwriting. If you can't complete this simple request I would have to side with my bank and say this is fraud. I'll be waiting for this picture

Thank you,
John

I understand you as well, but for the moment i cant help you,i dont have time and no photo camera with me..

I have begged the bank to allow this transaction without a picture as proof of our friendship, but they will not allow it. I pray that you will find access to a camera.

Thank you,
John

ill see what i can do ..

Perfect!!!!!!!!

I know it is not shown on the photo but I have been looking to modify the NSX with special wheels that I have only seen once and that really looked great. I was hoping that you might be able to provide me with the name of someone who would have access to these special spinner wheels made by an alloy specialist named Ted E. Baer. I believe he might be German. I have not had much luck with an internet search but you seem to be more knowledgeable about the NSX than I am so I would greatly appreciate any insight you might have.
