What do you guys think of these NSX's for sale?

I'm in socal hopefully it isn't a problem finding a NSX tech around here.

You have several very good NSX mechanics in SoCal, won't be a problem for either a PPI or for support during ownership.

Ramon would be my first choice

Hey guys I am currently in the market for a NSX. There aren't too many for sale but I have no idea where to start.

Is there a specific year model you guys would recommend? I guess preferably the year with the least problems.

My budget is anywhere from 35-40k or so. Looking for one preferably under 60K miles..

What do you guys think of this one? I'm usually never interested in "Rebuilt" titles but this car looks amazing and i'm curious to see if the owner of this car is on this forum? Here is a link to the ebay Auction

Any advice is appreciated guys, This will be my daily driver. I'm looking for a reliable / fun / unique daily driver. I currently have 2010 GTR but driving it everyday can be a pain in some situations..

Also would like to note im planning on keeping NSX very long term and planning on turboing it as well :)

My recommendation would be a 97+ 3.2L & up, you will not regret it.
My first one was a 91 but after i founded that the 3.2L 6 speed was a better option, i would never go back to a 3.0 5speed. If you can find a 97+ coupe version it would be even better if you want to track it. Best of luck & keep looking.

Ok well i'll start looking for a 97+, lots of people say the 6 sp is worth it alone. I'm hoping to find one within my budget of around 35-40k, maybe 45k. Also i'll be sure to look out for one that has had the TB/WP done. Very helpful forum, thanks guys

Any other advice is appreciated!

just to give you another perspective,i prefer the 5-speed,i think it has a better shift feel.one criticism of it initially was that the revs dropped too much on the 1-2 shift, the 95 at least partially fixed that with a lower 2nd gear ratio,as you can see in the changes by year.the targa is marginally less stiff, but most people say they'll never feel it unless it's tracked, and to me it's worth for that magic feeling on a nice day of being open to the sky.as for speed,it's only about 100 lb. heavier, which is from stiffening to the chassis.it's hard to feel that small a difference.
i agree with others, get a well-maintained one and enjoy it.

be careful on waiting if you want to pull the trigger on a 97+, the good ones go fast and tend to be $40k and higher. If you find one you like you may lose out if you get too fussy on price and try to stick with your 35-40k range.

Just my 2 cents, I do hope you find one in your price range

I'm interested in hearing more about your GT-R.....what are the daily annoyances? Because an NSX is not a terribly friendly daily car....the lack of cup-holders and low ground clearance being just two.

I only daily mine for a week or so at a time and then I switch back to my truck for my work commute. Its a nice contrast

..and then there is the $6-7,000ish price difference between a 95-96 and 97+. Is it worth the additional cost! For me, the answer was no. Took 18 months to find the right car...and I jumped on it fast. Good luck finding a car...siD
