That's the classic "Gulf" Petrol racing colors infamously seen on the original GT40's of the day...

Do a search on Google and you'll see some of the older classics sporting these sponsorship colors. Some enthuisast probably spec'd out this color option on his new GT40 to add some historical flare to it.

I guess your not a fan of that color scheme huh?

I like it as well but have a friend that has an original GT40 in that color so I may be a bit biased.

That is one of the most stunning paint schemes on the Ford GT. I've seen a few in person and they are awesome. The other color that looks as good on the GT is the Titanium Gray with the imbedded stripes.

Yah I agree it looks good on THAT car... I like the retro idea of it! However, on an NSX or anything else.... uhhhh.... no. Kinda like flames... On a '55 Chevy, flames are cool. On a 2005 Chevy, flames are more likely the result of poor UAW work (and you should be calling the Fire Dept) and not cool.

I am not a fan of two tone paint either. I love Ford GTs though so I would take it if I could afford one. Hopefully someone will buy it and actually drive it. Only 700 miles wow.

Yep, a CLASSIC amazing color .... wouldn't do that to an NSX never .... but it is a SWEEEEET color!

Awesome paint job on a retro classic! I think they look best in that scheme, or red. Or white with blue strip. Or blue with white strip. Or..... they're just cool cars for being such an old and simple design.

It was Fords answer to Enzo Ferrari who refused to sell Ferrari to Mr. Ford.

Mr. Ford built an incredible GT40 for a few years, then Porsche rewrote the rules and owned all races with their crazy 1000+hp races cars.

I like the color looks good on the car.

I have this argument with a friend all the time with music. He hates heavy metal, calls it shit, while he listens to eminem exclusively. He doesn't like heavy metal, so it all must be shit to him.

..sometimes bad is bad, but the gt pic you posted certainly isn't the ugliest paintjob ever. As mentioned in previous posts the gt example is based on the classic gt 40 cars.

That's one of the most famous and storied liveries of all time. Maybe second only to Ferrari red.

I'm not sure it looks as good on the new Ford GTs but it certainly looks great on the orginal and reproduction GT40s.

I have yet to see a photo that does that color scheme justice. It looks bland in pics, but in real life, it pops.
