I was going to try and stay out of this thread. (really  )
As it got down to the wire, I was dealing on a silver 91
(in the end it was my 1st choice but didnt work out, I went from Black to Silver).
I ended up with a Red 94 (Red = wife's 1st choice, my last choice)
I said any color but Red, as it draws too much attention & would look
too much like a "F" car wana a be. (Had a Red 65 365hp coupe in the past)
After a few months of ownership, I cant imagine it being any other color than Red. Its such a deep Blood Red and the Black top really sets it off in my opinion. So, 6 months ago I would have voted another color but now Red is my 1st choice for 91-94's.
(Also, as I look back to the early 90's all I ever recall seeing is Red NSX's)
So it fits.
Resale Red it is.

No. 1 GP white. Honda Type-R colour.
No. 2 Monaco Blue. Just personal preference and its not too dark.
No. 3 Yellow. It scream sportiness.
No. 4 Red with black top. Original NSX colour.

I guess I was working on the assumption that when people buy their NSX, they get the color they want.
The going price for a 1997+ was more than I wanted to pay at the time I got my NSX, so I didn't get the color I had wanted the most (Monte Carlo Blue).

I love my midnight pearl. At night it looks black, in dimmer light it looks blue and in full sun it looks purple. I speculate that since there are so few this color many have not seen it in person and therefore did not vote it their favotite!

I was torn between Sebring Silver Metallic and Grand Prix White....they both look so darn good!! :)

Was 2000 the first year New Formula Red offered?
Or were BOTH Red's offered 1999.
Because the poll would indicate so.
What am I missing here?

my top 5 fave colors in order are:

5. Formula Red (One of the nicest shades of red I've seen)
4. Spa Yellow (Screams "Look at me!")
3. Imola Orange Pearl (Exotic and eyecatching)
2. NSX-R Championship White (Can't mess with perfection and Honda's F1 heritage)
1. Berlina Black (Something about a black NSX that's just badass)

Yes, both were offered in 1999. New Formula Red was the color for the 50 Zanardi NSXs produced for the 1999 model year. All other red NSXs sold in North America that year were Formula Red.

Beginning in 2000, New Formula Red was the color for all red NSXs sold in North America.

Red is my first choice- with the black top- I was interested in the same car that MCM purchased.

Ended up with black, which would be my 3rd choice after Kaiser silver. But even the colors that I'm not as fond of (in principle) are very well executed on the NSX, like the Spa Lemon Pearl.

And they're all NSX's, in the end.

In occasional pics, the monte carlo blue w/ tan interior is the most striking combo I've seen.

I agree!

My first choice:

Formula red with black roof ( and with black interior ).

I still believe Formula red is, IMO, the color that best put in evidence the NSX gorgeous and superb lines...

I like the mean look of a black NSX but unfortunately it shadows too much its fantastic lines...

Second choice: ( if I had to own a third NSX* )

Monte Carlo blue with tan interior!

*because my second one would be nothing less than the GT1 NSX !!!
