What is this part?

I found it under the brake fluid reservoir, perched on top of the brake lines. I just had new braked pads installed and fluid changed. Related? Everything seems to be running normally, and I can't figure out where this part belongs.

I think it belongs back in your mechanic's tool box. Looks to me like part of a brake bleeding system.
