What is this part and where can I get it?

Hi,

When I removed my spare tire, I noticed a rusted bracket piece underneath the ABS reservoir. Can someone please tell me what it is and where I can get the new one ordered ?

Probably not available though. I am sure this has not been ordered much, if at all, over the years.

I would take it out and blast and repaint it. This happens due to residual brake fluid landing on the bracket.

mine looks exactly the same. its not gonna rust thru and your abs pump falls on the ground

but since I am upgrading to the newer style ABS pump I havent worried about it.

thanks guys !!! This piece and my calipers were the only ones rusted. I wish I knew about this part when I sand blasted my calipers. Time for another session of sand blast/repaint

I replaced mine with a new one. I have the old one blasted and painted and on the shelf. Because it gets exposed brake fluid the paint does not hold up. You could go with powder coat which would not be affected by brake fluid. The bracket is thick steel so unless you are driving where and when they salt the roads its unlikelly it will rust through.

indeed powdercoating it would be best, most paints won't hold up that well.
Even two compound paint will be effected by de brake fluid.
