After a bit of searching and no luck, I thought it was time to ask people with knowledge what this line is and does it require that it have the bracket which secures it to the coolant tank. After you stop giggling(I'm Serious lol) maybe you can answer me. I am replacing my coolant tank with an aftermarket tank and there is not a place to re-attach the bracket to the tank. Question being, is there a lot of movement or vibration in this line as to rub the paint off over a period of time? If there is, I will have to figure out an alternative bracket to stop the rubbing.

PS: This is not my engine bay, so I can't answer any questions about it. I don't have any pictures of mine and my car is still sitting out the winter, up here in the Great White North.

Thanks in advance.

Vacuum to the brake booster?

Yes this is the brake line booster, notice how it has a valve, that is to ensure that you NEVER get accidental boost in the brake line, only vacuum.. can you imagine if for whatever reason the brake line gets positive pressure, you wouldn't be able to press down the brake pedal!!!!!

Well, I at least know what it is. lol Now, can anyone who has an aftermarket coolant tank installed, tell me if the hose and particularly the valve rub against the tank, without the support bracket installed? Also, I have no idea of what is installed in front of the air intake.

at the very least you should get the oem airbox back together..i have no idea what that round device is where the box should be?

Joe:

I have the round Dali coolant tank. So far, I have not had any rubbing between the check valve and the tank (I seem to recall having about 5-6 mm clearance). However, the bottom of the tank did press up against some electrical stuff mounted on the engine block (might have been the noise condensor, maybe the EGR, I can't remember exactly and like you, my car is in storage for the winter so I can't check to confirm). I had to enlarge the holes on the tab welded to the coolant tank to allow me to position it away from the device it was pressing against. This interference may only be a problem for the round Dali tank and probably would not occur with the wedge or slab style tank.
