what is the trick to adjusting headlights

Is it through the little hole in the side??????????????????????? What ever happened to an up and down screws orund the headlights. I have a 91 and really love how advanced the car was put together compared to American Motors

the verticle adjustment in through the hole near the fenders. the horizontal adjustment is through the hole near the inside of the hood.

however, I tried adjust the verticle aim. I kept turning it either direction with no success... Anyway, it does not really have any screw to turn, but some kind of gear thingies. Very different than most cars. I guess it must be some racing application...

now all a have to do is find the "special" tool to adjust them

I beleive a phillips screwdriver will do it. Make sure you protect the fender well.

As Larry said, and as the manual clearly shows, a phillips will work. Been there, done that.

I tried a phillips, it must have been the wrong size, or my light wasnt moving. I applied pressure while turning but, noooooooooooooo
