What if... I put an AUTO gauge cluster on a MANUAL NSX?

I had a gauge cluster panel failure on my manual 5sp NSX, and while i was looking for one, my friend offered me one after he crashed his car... but it's a gauge cluster for an AUTO NSX, which has the (P)(R)(D)(3)(2)(L) on it...
I know the gear indicators wouldn't work, but, will this cluster panel affect anything else after i put it in my manual nsx? (electricaly)

I'm not sure if it would work or not, but it seems like an awful lot of hassle to go through for something that would look "junky."

I would think with a little patience you could find the right part at the right price.

PS: I'd also put a post in the "Want To Buy" forum too.

I do agree with Jim, however,... it would be pretty cool if you could take out the letters P,R,N,D,etc and replace them with arrows and letters.... something like this:

/\
<->
La
Ka
K
X
\/
and hook that up to your V1 (if you have one) I think it would be the ultimate in concealed display.... If I had the knowledge and the money I would do that.... as long as you have a guage cluster anyway.

I think the auto gear lights hooked up to your radar detector would be cool, you hear a beep and a quick look at the dash tells you what's going on.
It's probably more trouble to hook up than it is worth but it's your car.

I think the rear view mirror install (as discussed here in prior threads) would be a lot cooler than in the dash.

Thanks for everyone's help, now the cluster is in, and with a RPM meter of 9000, but 7500 red line, but i changed the faces to the after market inverse-glow ones, every electrical system wasn't affected, and works fine. but right now i am thinking some way to change the voltage meter to a 2-LED gauge and hook it onto the wireless tire pressure sensors... if done successfully, will let you guys know. thanks a lot.
