What engine oil do you use?

I previously used Castrol Syntec in my turbo cars and I had no problems with it. I am now using Mobil 1 5w/30 in my NSX. You have to figure that Mobile 1 is the best because it is what many companies use as OEM in their cars. That meant alot to me when I decided to run with synthetic this time around.

I use strictly 10W30 because that's what the factory recommends.

Pure synthetic, major brands (Pennzoil Performax or Mobil 1).

And I've had no engine problems at all. 47K miles, 50+ track events.

I've used Mobil One 10W30 for the past two oil changes, and non-synthetic 10W30 prior to that.
It seems that the Mobil One darkens more quickly (with less mileage) than the non-synthetic 10W30. Is this my imagination?
If not, why would this happen?
