Honestly I don't like them but if you can get them for dirt cheap I would get them for something to use when you get bored.....or if you need a spare set of wheels to run on. What is the budget you are trying to spend? Maybe we can give you some suggestions on alternative choices.

Rims make a big statement on a car and if you have the wrong ones on it will actually make the car look worse. If you are looking for under a $1000.00 I would say get these.

I totally understand your point. I guess without being too specific I can get these with pretty much new tires for well under $1000.
Any other opinions? A lot of views but no comments.
Thanks guys.

Blodi,

Your car is beautiful and I personally think the stock wheels look better than those. This is only my opinion so don't anyone take any offense. The NSX is an exotic car and putting cheap looking wheels or not the right design on the car does the car a diservice. But taste is subjective so what do I know. Remember your drive an NSX not a civic. If you're not willing to spend at least 1-2k for rims and tires then I would suggest not putting on any wheels at all. To me I would not put on any knock off or cheap part on my car unless I know its something you cannot see.
Ex. like I have the AIS but downforce makes the same thing for half the price. So that is ok.......but I will not skimp on rims, exhuast, suspension, headers etc........but thats just me.

My take is like this.....I rather save money for whatever the time it takes to get the nice stuff versus just trying to buy something cheap to slap on. So if it takes me two years to get the $3000+ rims then I will save up and wait. Because I will know that my car is getting what it deserves. Whenever I see a nice car with cheap or knockoff rims it just totally ruins the car. For all the people who buy NSX's and complain about prices for parts etc......you have no business of owning an NSX, Ferrari etc if you can't afford the right goodies for it. By no means am I saying get the most expensive stuff out there either but at least it should be middle grade quality that is going on a car like the NSX. By the way MOMO's go good with a Euro car in my opinion....only thing momo is the steering wheel on a type-r.

If you want to get rims that are still nice but not in the range of Volks...then here are some other rims to consider that are still nice but do not cost as much....

Good luck and remember it is YOUR car you can put whatever you want on it. That is just my take on how I would mod a car that I own if any exotic car. Just like if I owned a Ferrari I am not going to put on some Konig rims.

They look "heavy" to me, not heavy in weight but the spokes look thick and bulky. Just not my style but everyone has their own opinion. I saw a lot of cars at XPO which definitely had different looks based upon the wheels alone so they can really influence the overall look.

Not too bad, if it is genuine "MOMO" and well under 1K, good price, I would go for it.

Yeah but those MOMO's look like boo boo.......I went to MOMO's official site and these looks ok.

or TSW's they are pretty decent and cheap.

Enkei's are nice rims for the money also. But like I said if that is what you want then get it ;)......getting rims and tires for under a 1g is a great deal. But if it makes the car look like crap then its a waste of money to me. Those MOMO's aren't bad but its not my cup of tea. Good luck though.

I am a big fan of 5-spokes on nsx's, if you like these split 5-spokes, and the price is right, by all means, go for them; if you're unsure, and are simply interested in something aftermarket for the price, then you're buying them for the wrong reasons - buy whatever you prefer, for your car.

Thanks for all the responses guys I appreciate it...
ediddynsx...I fully understand your concerns about getting top quality for the nsx in all its aftermarket parts....if I could just have one bit of defense it that I have a $400 flowmaster exhaust on my nsx that I paid for...now most exhaust i know cost easily twice that amount and believe me I never would have even thought about getting a "mullet" brand exhaust on such a high quality car until I did some research and loved the sound and the performance gains were as good as any other brand for X times more money.
And everytime anyone (nsx owner or not) has heard my "cheap" exhaust, they can't believe how good it sounds.
I can go on and tell you how i put minimal money into my 92 prelude Si..a non vtec motor that i maybe put $1000 into modifying and would beat every N/A honda etc there was back then locally, heck it even had a pacesetter header.... I guess my point is the name on the product isn't the measurement of what it can gain you.

I agree with you there....I actually like the flowmaster exhaust too. I did say there are exceptions remember?

And I am not a name brand guy just for the name. If the quality is not there I will not buy it just for the name. For example HRE's are pretty popular but the quality on those rims aren't that great. But they do look nice........I would never buy them. But in your reference to those momo's without getting too much off subject....I don't think they look good on the car. Maybe the other momo's I have pointed out.

Heres a few more for suggestions for 1g

It is your car...mod it as you please....that is the beauty of owning your own car.

People put rims that cost anywhere from $500-$5000. Is it really that much difference? I can't say. But I will tell you that the people who spend the extra dough do think that they do.

I personally like JDMNSX's volk sf challenge with those huge lips. Never seen another set on another NSX. Would love to get my hands on a set of those and color it like my GT-N's.

I already said that what the two guys stated above. You wanted our opinion and I gave it, but I did say it is your car and do what you want.

Blodi I am not going to sugar coat anything here. You have helped me out in the past and I want to give you my honest opinion.

I like stock wheels on a car, unless the car is seriously modded and it has a killer set of wheels and tires (lowered, upgraded brakes, etc.).

I think your car is nice in that it looks stock. Although it looks older (really only because of the wheels), its clean and stock looking. That's more classy than something that is "riced" for the lack of a better word.

Having said this, I must also say that I do NOT care for chrome at all. Especially, on an NSX. Its too blingy for me and out of place on a serious performance car.

I don't think these MOMO's are the highest quality wheels. They are cast and will most certainly be a bit heavier than your smaller stock wheels, and may not be as strong.

But if I had a budget of $1000, and had to choose between the stock chromed wheels and these, I would take these in a heartbeat.

I think they will make your car look better for sure... and at that price, you really aren't losing much.

If you can afford a nicer set of wheels, then I would do that. If you don't want to blow more money now (and I mean double this amount), I think these are fine. I do think its a good looking wheel. In your case, if they are for sure the correct sizes and offsets, I would do it.

Thanks again for all the responses guys.
Ediddynsx, thanks for all the links...now my head is really spinning...haha.
I still havn't heard back from the seller about my offer, so it may just end at that anyways.
TURBO2GO, I couldn't agree with you more, I hate the fact that my stock wheels are chrome....I really would be much happier with them if they were the stock silver, but the rest of the car was too nice to pass up for the miles and price.
If it happens that I would get these, I would never expect them to be the end all /be all wheels that I would keep forever...but they certainly look better than my wheels now.
The car is going to be sitting for the winter in a week anyways, maybe it just best to wait til spring at this point til I know better of what I want.

I don't know what would posses someone to take a perfectly good stock NSX wheel on a red car and spend a grand on top to chrome plate them.

Well keep an eye out, something good will come along if your deal with these falls through. If its really going in for the winter, then I'd take the wheels off, clean them, put them up on e-bay... you never know what you will get. Then take that money, take your time and find something good for her when she is coming back out.

I hope I get to you before you buy these!

These rims have been around for atleast 10 years. I think the style really looks dated and it would not make your car look better.

As a back up set, maybe! And that's a big maybe. I'm sure they are in great condition but they just dont go with the lines of an NSX.

Is it me or do these momos look like they would go good on a 1995 Nissan Maxima with tv screens in the headrests??

erick

I think they are gross. Volks and NSX's go hand and hand. Kind of like peanut butter and jelly.

they are nice
here are my advans

they are no longer in production though
