Looking at the beautiful pics of the HSC, I've always wondered what they do to concept cars they design for car shows but never really make it to the assembly plant? Do they smash it down? Keep it? Sell it? (This question pertains to any car manufacturer.)

Just curious.

Interesting topic.

I have a book that I don't remember the name of off the top of my head and it deals with predominantly domestic manufacturers, but they usually keep them in storage and occasionally will sell them to their executives or auction them off.

I believe FORD recently auctioned off a lot of their concept cars from the past that they didn't have space for in their museum.

I remember a car and driver TV segment from over 2 years ago that showed the inside of the SVT warehouse (way before the auction). It had a whole bunch of their concepts including the GT90 and the indigo, as well as other special projects.
