Not delivering enough pressure = not delivering enough volume.

Check the pressure via the test port on top of the fuel filter canister.

46-53 PSI with the vacuum line to the fuel regulator disconnected

36-44 PSI with the vacuum line to the fuel regulator connected

Keep in mind that if it's dying, it doesn't get any better so symptoms will not be intermittent.
