Hey guys, with alot of these power adder choices out there, i was kind of curious, i have been pondering Dali's weight loss guide, and am just curious if you guys have done any other things that have dropped weight without making your car totally stripped of interior and such. By my estimation i think i can get down to 2800 +/- 20 lbs after a bit of $, but at least i'm dont need to do any major engine modifications to go a bit faster (easier to stop too )

but just curious what types of 'Diet Dyno Numbers' you guys have achieved, and what you did.

i think that 265 rwhp at 2800 lbs (sans driver) would be pretty snappy.

well that and its a good excuse for all the Carbon Fibre parts that i'll probably end up having on my car LOL

Here’s mine

Here’s my weight:

  • Removed spare tire and bracket: -32.4
  • Removed engine cover: -15
  • Removed tools, jack, air pump: -17
  • Odyssey PC680 battery: -19.6
  • TAITEC JGTC exhaust: -13.2
  • Headers: -10
  • Wheels/tires: -1.1
  • Stereo mods: -6 (aftermarket speakers and amp)
  • Ricer wing: -6 (Thanks ak, for the wonderful picture)
  • Non-compliance toe-links: +2 (?)
  • Swaybars: +2 (?)
That’s a reduction of 116 lbs. Assuming the weight of a stock NSX is 3010 lbs., I should be around 2894 lbs.

The following mods in addition or in place of those above (marked with *), would put you around 2780 lbs. without having a stripped down interior.

  • Stock toe-links*
  • Stock front swaybar and remove rear* (you probably won’t need it with Tiens): -2 (?)
  • Tien suspension: -26
  • TAITEC GT Lightweight exhaust*: -27
  • Flywheel: -7.5
  • Carbon-fiber side vents: -4
  • Carbon-fiber B-pillar covers: -3.6
  • Seats/rails: -40 (?)
  • Stoptech Aerorotors rotors: -3.1
  • Kumho MXs on stock 15/16*: -10
Reducing the weight to 2800 lbs. would yield the same improvement in straight-line acceleration as having an additional 20 HP. This is not counting the increased power from the engine mods or gains from the reduced rotational mass.
