Why does the manual say to replace the washers when changing the fuel filter.... but the filter doesn't come with a new washers?

Is the washer something special that I need to order from the dealership? By chance does anyone know the part number for fuel filter washers?? It just doesn't make sense to me why they don't come with it!!

The crush washer for the oil pan drain plug should be included with the filter. Some stealerships charge $1.00 for it though.

He was talking about the fuel filter, not oil filter.

when in a pinch, you can reuse the washers, make sure 1 is above the banjo fitting, and the other is below it, it may get stuck to the old fuel filter, when all done. turn the key to on (II)to pressurize the system so you can check for leaks. do not start the car unless you are sure there are no leaks.

Thanks for the info guys. I changed out the filter and reused the existing washers. Then when I was cleaning up, I found a small packet taped to the inside of the fuel filter box

So I put them on. I figured if I've got them....might as well use them.

thanks
