Started the car this morning and headed to the gas station, 3 miles out. Parked the car, filled the tank and had trouble starting the car. This has happened before but not as bad as this morning.

More info:

-temp gauge reads normal (warmed up)
-starter cranks, and cranks but won't fire-up
-after 3 attempts, it finally starts

Is there some sort of check valve in the fuel line/system that might be faulty? I never have a cold start problem.

Thank you in advance for your help

If the Main Relay was faulty the starter would'nt crank. Is this correct?
It would crank - symptoms as you describe
See here to repair (Good preventive measure even if not the problem)

Very common failure in all Hondas.

Alrighty then. I'll check it out. Thanks for the link too.

Just did a search on the Main Relay. Wow! I didn't realize how this little device can be linked to so many problems. I think I'll just go ahead and replace this unit.

The solder joints are pretty much the only thing that goes wrong with it - should be just as reliable with the repair,
