Low speed lead follow exercise to learn line and review balance basics.
Corner spotting for each session (Povoledo will watch from each corner to make notes on each driver)
Detailed debriefing after each session with goal setting to do list for the next session.

GP Track - lots of running time, great day

My car probably isn't gonna be ready for the day, so I won't be there:mad:

Don't you have a nice yellow car you could drive?

I would be soooo weird that I'm actually nervous to do it, it has different handling characteristics and therefore needs to be driven differently - which I'm not used to, I'll do the Hanson day in it, but not the big track

Weird meaning fast? I like weird cars. It would be sad if your NSX was weirder than your Porsche.

Weird as in my Porsche has WAY more grip and power than my NSX, so doing some of the things I do in my Porsche wouldn't work so good in my X - so I'm afraid I'll do things like carrying too much speed into corners and relying on extra horspower that I don't have to stick the rear end down after hitting the 1st apex in #2.

I like my NSX enough to not want to discover it just isn't my Porsche the hard way.

PS - It is important to note for all the track newbies and garage queens that I regularly tracked my NSX before I bought my Porsche Racecar and it was awesome - the issue is switching cars, I'm not sure I'm a good/experienced enough driver to switch and still have the same fun quotent on a BIG track, I'll have my NSX out on the 25th on the small track for sure!

Im raising the BS flag on this one. You took it to the track TWICE, you schmuck. Then you got all rightious and decided to buy yourself a vintage car.

If that qualifies as "regular tracking" then I regularly screw Kate Beckinsale!

You screwed Kate Beckinale twice?

True story -totally unrelated, my cousin bought a condo in Toronto formerly owned by Linda Evangalista (sp?) and she left behind her personal phone book in the kitchen. So if you wanted to nail a celebrity, I can get you some digits! :)

Are you suggesting that you've screwed Kate TWICE?

I thought you didn't even like the Ladies!

I took it to Watkins Glen with Peter for two days, then took it Mosport a few more times (Peter's day, Saab School @ Shannonville, and then my track rental days when you were too chicken to come) That works out to be equal to a full season for most guys on the track and I only bought the car in The end of August!

OK, compared to 30+ days in the Porsche last year and the four days I've run so far, its nuthin, but compared to all the other NSXs in Toronto, mine must be worth less since its been "heavily tracked"

Looks like I'm going. I'll try to be weird as possible.

Monday Monday Monday!

One day only...track shredding...fuel burning....funny car action!

Ya I'll be there Monday.

Sorry I can 't join u!

Wanna get together for dinner afterwards?

So who all is going???

Me.

That's all I know of. Daria's not, Stu's not. I don't know if Dave is going.

You?

Stu - Sure, where do you want to go? It might be good for us to discuss the club for a few minutes.

Where is mosport?

This day is an "Advanced Day" where most folks there will have driven Mosport MANY MANY times. (There is no Beginner Run Group and no expectation of slower cars and drivers who are new to the track)

Omar, not to insult your driving skills, but there will be almost no instruction available and you've got a car with brand new on-track feel because of your Turbo.

This is at the "GP Track" at Mosport NOT the safe, fun, "Driver Development Track" (DDT) that we're all running next Friday the 25th.

The GP track is awesome, and I love it, and you should drive on it

BUT

DON'T do THIS day as your first time on Mosport - you may seriously regret it, its not a forgiving track - its acutally known as one of the most dangerous tracks in North America.

Do the BMW school on June 9th weeekend, that way you'll have a full time in car instructor and a safe, fun, fast time.

Seriously, this ain't no Cayuga, there are walls everywhere and lots of elevation change, no "infield" to slow you down, and lots of turns that if you take them wrong you'll be off camber and your car will simply fly off the track, into one of those walls I was talking about.

If you haven't run seriously at Tremblant or Watkins' Glen don't come out to an advanced day at Mosport for your first time on it - do a "school" instead of a lapping day - trust me, you'll have more fun and you'll get to drive your car home.

They are running a school at this event. I signed up for the instruction, as I feel I still have more to learn. It costs extra, but it is taught by pro's not volunteers. Their format is identical to the Dexter Autosports school.

ah, Excellent, they didn't do that last year, they just had two run groups and one or two guys who would go out with you if you liked.

I take back quite a bit of what I said, then, but it still is a dangerous track and anyone would be a fool to think that driving like crazy on a small track translates into any experience like driving on this one.

Just got back from the track and had a great time. Had a chance to meet swbatte and his nice 92. Besides a m3 going into the wall exiting corner 2 it was a great day!

Do you know who it was? (Or can you describe the car)

I have a bunch of M3 buddies...I hope they weren't hurt:frown:

just came back from the track too... i wasnt driving, just sits in my friends track car for the whole day, never had a chance to talk to the 2 Red NSX guys, but its a fun day, lots of track time, and lots of sun shine:biggrin:
