valve lash without dropping motor?

Has any one attemped to adjust there valves to spec without dropping the motor? Is this possible? Search came up with little on this topic.

It's time consuming but not that bad. It requires a mirror and special tools (and patience). You can get the tools from Amazon.com for $11.99 (cheapest you will find for sure).

Well, with the engine opened up to do the timing belt, it took me 45 minutes to adjust/check the 24 valves. Granted most of the time to do the job is getting the valve covers off. At least this gives you an idea of how long it takes to do the adjustment. I would bet that it would take 4-5 hours to get the engine out. Thats if you have done it before.

YOu will need the tool to do the adjustment. Given the location, tt is a royal pain without it.

Taking the motor out is not required.
