Looking for a used 3.2 motor, if anyone has a line on one available, please email me, or post here. I've peformed a search, looked at the ERZcars site, and a few others; going to call, as well as the local shops. Located in So Cal, also, if anyone would care to chime in on 'market value' of a used 3.2 motor, that would be helpful as well.

Thank you.

BTW- Does anyone have nsxmodifieds new phone number; the one listed on the web site is defunct.

There's this one.

Because they're so rare, it's tough to assign a market value to one.

His reserve is the same as his buy-it-now, $10k. I'll sell you one with just as few miles for $9k, but I suggest you take your time and keep looking because that's too much. You should be able to find one with 20-30k miles for $5-6k.

Ha ha! I hadn't noticed that.

BTW, he's had that motor listed twice before, and both times he received a high bid of $5200.

Personally, I think it's rather silly to state your reserve price in your description. And, if you're not going to accept any bids less than the buy-it-now price, then you may as well make that your minimum bid.

What's it worth? Not $10K, IMO - too close to the price of a new one, for buying off eBay (with its used parts and inherent risks and lack of a guarantee). I know 3.0-liter engines often sell for $5K or less - and they usually come with the transmission.

If it were my car, and I had a lot of time and weren't in a particular hurry, I would keep looking. If I felt really desperate, I would probably send the seller an e-mail through eBay offering him $6K or $7K (the max I would be willing to buy it for) as a take-it-or-leave-it offer. By now maybe he's realizing that it's not worth anywhere near the $10K reserve.

Good luck...

I've heard (but not confirmed) that a new one is about $20k. Simple enough, call your local dealer then deduct 25%.

But be sure and ask the dealer what that comes with. A "long block" generally mean complete block and heads w/cams etc, but nothing else. An engine like the one on ebay (or mine) typically come with the intake plenum, injectors, ignition coils, and accessories such as alternator and AC compressor. Valuable extras if you need them, especially from a super low mileage car.

So $10k is not insane, but I think the price drops pretty fast with more mileage and 30k isn’t much if cared for.
