So who holds the record distance for unseen long distance buy of a NSX??

I recently bought a CTSC NSX from Sterling VA fully based on massive amount of pics and on speaking to the owner who was a Prime member too.
Car is in the process of beeiing shipped to my home near Leiden in The Netherlands, Europe right now, hopefully arriving in about 3-4 weeks.
Must say I'm still a bit nervous on how the car will really be when it arrives.

My buy distance: about 4.730 Mls

Who bids more:rolleyes:

I bought a parts NSX in Tokyo Japan based on photos only.

That's 6428 miles from home.

Damn,

The first person answering immediatly outbids me:mad:

But hey, a parts car is a different matter, don't you agree, lot less risk involved:redface:

OK so let's change the question to: "long distance buy of your perfect NSX"

What did u end up doing with this car? seems like more headache then it worth.. If u don't mine me asking what did u pay for this?

back to your question of distance I purchase my car from Fontana CA with out seeing the car its about 2400 miles away. I was in good condition but did find some small problems like rock chips and chipped windshield if I had seen this in person I would have try to go down on the price of the car..

San Jose - Honolulu
2413 miles (3884 km) (2097 nautical miles)
FYI
shipping cost $975
arrived in 3 days and picked up in 5 days from shipping date.

wow crazy man, im from canada im gonna fly over to the states and drive my nsx once i find the right one ^_^
im just worried about buying something i can't see, im afraid what i might get into =D

Hi

I did not go more than 1750 miles.

I did not see it before I bought it. I used Prime a lot to check on the guy that had it and it turned out he was a really nice fellow. I went back to have lunch with him a couple of years later.

He is still around Prime. Not a NSX owner, but if he get the garage thing worked out I am sure that a 3.2 will be considered or he will go for a Lambo.

Regards

Parts don't count! But maybe non-NSXs don't count either. Anyway, I've gotten two cars from Tokyo and I'm in Phoenix (5791 miles)

How is that Skyline coming? Please tell me you are going to be able to get it.

call me ignorant, but...

I bought mine from an ad I found online (car trader I think...), had only seen a few pics of it, and shipped it from Atlanta to Los Angeles with only having spoken to the owner once for a few minutes. Turns out it was a guy here from Prime, who had it listed on this site for a few thousand less than what I paid! Money wasn't really a concern though. I just wanted the newest and lowest mile LBBP I could find...

oh yeah... $2k for enclosed shipping from Atlanta to LA. It arrived on a truck with a Carrera GT, another porsche, a 360, and an old Woody.

I was in Japan on vacation and a place an order for a new 2005 NSX at South Bay Acura in Torrance after going to the Honda Welcome Plaza. Does that count?

WOW!!! You should of took them all. The NSX will outlast them all of course in terms of maintenance and reliability. Must be nice to see these kinds of cars at one time.

I think I might have this one!

Found my car on NSX Prime and sent money to the seller who lived half way around the world from me without even seeing the car! Trusted the seller and photos he provided without any hesitation whatsoever (Thanks again ViperDriver :) ).

Car was transported from Albuquerque New Mexico via enclosed trailer to Houston Texas. It was then loaded onto a ship and sailed to Antwerp Belgium where it was offloaded and then trans-shipped to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Beat that one! LOL...

And we have a winner! What's something like that cost?

I cut it in half in Japan and then brought it back home in two pieces.

I bought it for the drivetrain and front end parts to rebuilt another car I owned. But in the end, I got screwed by a crook on Prime who sold me a car without a title, so now I have two full parts cars neither of which can be driven :(

(see my sig for the longer story).

The Kid -

It cost me $3600 U.S. and some hair (the shipment was badly deylayed due to lost documentation and missed ship booking twice U.S. and Belgium).

The car is at home in Dubai now and I've just put on 225 miles in 2 days - love it.

I hope to have another lunch wioth you, you know, the Alps are a nice place to drive in the summer (see Tope Gar 01x10 ;) )

Wife and buddy looked at mine. Sent me pictures. Purchased in Boston, it now lives in Silicon Valley. I used a company named Dependable Auto Shippers to move mine. It was picked up at the dealer and taken to their storage yard. Then onto a truck for the quick trip to California. Stored again -- just overnight and delivered to me the next day. They drove it almost 3 miles. I called to complain and the lady told me that was normal since they have HUGE parking areas and this was normal. WELCOME to Google earth. I viewed their lots and boy was she full of it. They picked up on time, got it here early, but I think some kid (Kids come in all ages) took it for a little spin. The car arrived in great shape, it is just the fact that they did.
