Unofficial: Mt. Baker Drive on Aug. 26th.

I invited a few guys (nice people) and would like to add their names and cars sometime next week.

See you at Smoke point rest area Sunday 26th

I'm one of these said people. I was at the bbq recently in my humble silver Civic. I have some pictures of that that I haven't posted yet (work's been busy).

This sounds like fun.

Can't wait! Be waiting for the pack at the Smokey Pt. rest area. I have a friend in a viper, and another with a 92 nsx (sebring silver) see ya Sunday.....

Seems the cars are starting to come out of the garages for this run. I need a full car count. If you have signed up and your name and friends names do not appear on the 1st post, please add all names and additional cars. Remember it is $10.00 per car, please do not make me run around at 7:29am Sunday morning trying to collect. Have your fee ready and vehicle full of gas. We leave at 7:30am sharp. THANKS!

arrghh, to go or not to go!?

so guys, and gals,

my ignition switch started acting up. I went to Zahntech real quick (see other thread, excellent experience) and Matthew cleaned it up, and the nsx started! we turned it off and on several times and it seemed good.

then, I stopped somewhere and it didnt start. So I waited 10 seconds, and then it started (phew).

So now here's the dilemna: do I want to end up on a mountain on sunday and have the switch go out?

or do we have any DIY type folks going with us who could help me get under and clean off the switch IF it fails completely?
Its really easy, took Mathew 30 minutes to do it.

I really wanna go; Ive been looking forward to this before I moved to Seattle. but its a huge risk. I mean finding a tow truck up there would be a hassle. And then they're prolly going to charge an arm and a leg to tow it down here, or to Bellingham!

any ideas?

thanks,

Moazzam

Moazzam, I have my tool bag with me, not my tool box. You have a known problem with your car and it hasn't been resolved, I would not leave town with it. Especially where it has been worked on and the problem came back again. I wish I could be more encouraging. If you do decide to take it, your car may get left somewhere that is not desireable for an NSX to have to sit.

-UPDATE FOR SUNDAY"S DRIVE -

I spoke to Amy at the Mt Baker office, she has informed me the White Salmon day lodge will not be available to us due to there parking lot construction still going on. They are behind schedule unfortunately. She said we will have access to the lodge area for about 20-30 minutes for photo ops only. The upper lodge located at Heather Meadows will be available for us to have lunch. It's about 3 miles further up, does not have the same view, but will only be open for us. Therefore, the cost per car is now $5 for the lodge, but we may have to pay a forest service parking fee of $5-$8 per car. Please be prepared for the additional parking fee that may be required in the Heather Meadows area.

Other than that we are still a go and will be on the road at 7:30am sharp, RAIN OR SHINE!

hi all,

yeah, dont think Im driving. It didnt start this morning on first try either. Waited couple of minutes, and thne it started.

thanks for your advice oldmnsx.

I had another idea: any lone drivers needing a passenger? :)

PM me and we'll exchange numbers.

thanks

Moazzam
ps: if not, I'll see you guys next year in the RL! :)

Is there an estimated time you guys will be at the arco/dairy queen in sedro woolley or at the casino. I know what time you guys are leaving, but I live up here near mt. baker and I only need to meet at one or the other of the places I mentioned. Any ideas when I could be there in time to meet everyone? thanks -sarge

guys I really want to help on the approximate time... but I don't really remember myself... We had the Vancouver BC group joining us every year at Casino... I guessed the rule of thumb is just arrive a little bit early.
Cosidering it'll take around 1 - 1 1/4 hours to the White Salmon lodge, and it's open at 11:30 for us....
I would say we should arrive at the casino around 9-10am? (This is just my guesstimate... ) Hopefully Dean will chime in tonight...

See you guys tomorrow.

Moazzam, maybe you should take one of your daily beater and leave it at Park N Ride, should be able to hitch a ride!!!

Regarding arrival times - we should be at the Sedro Wooley elementary / junior high school (1/2 block north of Dairy Queen on HWY 9) around 9:00 - 9:15am and arrive at the casino by 9:45 - 10:00am. Don't know what to expect with the weather so we may be a little late, give or take 15 minutes.

See you guys there, remember $5.00 for the lodge and $5.00-$8.00 for the forest service parking.

Have a good time guys!!...wish I could make it but I am in Penticton (Canada) My wife is doing the Ironman Canada today and I have to do what I can to make sure my kids still have a mother tomorrow:wink:

Drive safe...and Mozzam...yeah it would be a real pain in the a$$ to hold that key all the way back to Seattle:eek:

See you guys later, John Z

That drive was a great time. Thanks Dean for organizing and running pace car. The nascar bump and pass was a great trick. I am looking forward to viewing the pics. I was nice meeting other car club members. I vote for bringing back the first sat. of every month meet again.
Drive happy
Speed safely

John

Had a great time and always enjoy driving to Mt. Baker (rain or shine). I'm glad to even with the rain we had 12 NSX's and 11 S2000's plus the other brands. Hope everyone else had a great time. May we should start a new thread "The Official 2007 Mt Baker NSX/S2000 Drive" Photos. Like "Fowler" said, we should start the monthly meetings again. I just request at least every other month to get together Saturday after 6-7pm.

I have over 75 photos, but my photo sizing skills are limited. If I burn these to disc is there anyone in Bellevue that could resize these so they do not come out as thumbnails and actually fill the screen. I can drop off the disc sometime Monday. Thanks!

Thanks Dean! I had a great time and met alot of great folk! It would have been easier to tape some driving footage if you would have come mozzam! And first ride with the nsx in the rain. HAHA
Saturday meets would be great!

Hey guys, great get together!! Sorry we (Schuss and I) bailed early...he wasn't having much fun with his 400+HP car and no traction control. We headed for the coast, where we were greeted with sunshine and dry roads...so we had a good drive as well! Looking forward to next year...and monthly Sat/Sun meets would be great!

When's the next weekend meet? I would love to try and come out, before I sell the nsx. :) its up for sale!

Thanks Integrapunk67 - I can have these to you on Wednesday at this point. What company do you work for or what is the address? What are your hours, or do you prefer to have the disc dropped off in the morning or late afternoon?

Took a pre-scheduled drive/trip to LA which has not been uneventful.
