Does anyone know of a Type R part for the Limited slip to make it stiffer? There was that post a long time ago. Also Who do I go to purchase the short gears? Mark? Neilo Acura? Who gives the best deal and who has the actual part #'s?! I need to do this fast so PLEASE HELP!

TIA

All the part numbers are in the FAQ. Look at the section on "Gears" under the "Performance" heading.

You can get them from any dealer, although they may take a while to get delivered. Niello Acura in Sacramento offers great prices on parts to members of the NSX Club of America.

I looked in the FAQ, but I guess I'm not good at it yet. Thank you very much for the answer!

I was told on this forum that LSD on regular NSX and Type-R are essentially the same. The difference is that, there are more shims on the TypeR LSD to make it stiffer which can be added to the regular LSD. I forgot who told me..

Actually, I don't think it's the amount of shims, but the type. I had this change done when I upgraded to a 4.55. A different shim was put in the place of the stock shim.
They actualy had a manual with a listing of all the different shims and the corresponding changes.

Ilya.... Thank you for the answer. Do you remember the cost of the extra shims? You COULD buy just the shims right?! I'm putting the transmission together myself with a friend.

erm..shims have nothing to do with the stiffness of an LSD. A shim is simply for tolorence. When you put in a new LSD it must be 'shimmed' to the proper clearence per the manual. Not all LSD are the EXACT same size even from honda...so you use different size shim(s) untill the differentail sits in the trans case according to spec. You can't tighten the bell housing on an LSD that isn't shimmed to spec or it will be loose and wear prematurely.
