When I am turning (left or right) and complete the turn, the turn signal does not click off. It stays blinking.

What do I need to do to fix this.

Thanks all.

Hi Dave,

Is your car aligned and your steering wheel returning exactly horizontal?? If not, fix that first:). The NSX has quite a unique gizmo for this operation and is dependent upon the wheel being aligned properly, way more sensitive then other cars.

Larry,

I am pretty sure it is straight. Nothing has changed. It just stopped working.

Page 23-210 of the on line service manual describes the gizmo and how it works and how to test it. This is not for beginners though. It is quite a bit of voltage testing etc.

The first thing I would do is to check fuses:

#46 in the main relay box (10amp, under front hood behind the passenger headlight(The fuse box with the 7.5 amp clock fuse))

#5 in the dash relay Box (10amp, under dash by the clutch side of the drivers foot well)

Then I would check for loose connections.

Then, If you can get a spare cancel unit it may be easiest to swap it and see if it fixes it.

I have seen other people post similar problems .. I remember because I have a similar problem. In the last year someone posted how they repaired theirs and it had something to do with the lube inside getting on the contacts. Do a search and you'll probably find it. I just haven't gotten around to doing mine

Guess what? I was afraid the Forums Nazi would smack me so I went and did the search myself but couldn't find it. Luckily I had kept a copy as a PDF and it turns out it was in the General Discussion section not the Technical back in 2002. Here's the link

The really odd thing is that you started that thread too Netviper and Larry even answered. Were you hoping you'd get better answers the second time around .. or just a bad case of amnesia?

Well, I did have it before, and I think what is said here fixed it, but I didn't find the thread when I searched for it.

I did find a thread posted by the guy who owned the car before me with the same problem! He had the peice replaced. I guess my 93 is cursed with turn signals issues.:(

I had issues with the turn signal cancelling prematurely before finishing the turn. However, the problem has gone away since. Weird stuff.

Fixed. Thanks to Kinans post. Does he still post here?

Took about an hour.

Attempted this afternoon, but was unable remove the steering column covers, both upper and lower - that is the one that covers the signal unit. The manual in the FAQ said there are 8 screws. I removed 6 obvious ones, but not sure about the last two. The last two were quite high inside. However, I failed to separate the lower and upper covers after removed all 8 screws. I didn't want to pull it too hard as most of the plastic parts in the car are quite fragile. I was not able to completely remove the dashboard center console also. Not sure how it attached to the bottom of the instrument clusters..

Any help would be appreciated. ;)

I had no trouble with that. Just unscrewed underneath. Then the top part. They are are a little fussy to take out once they are uncrewed. You have to pull pretty hard to get it out of there. Afer that, it is easy. It is also a pain to put them back in. Mostly on the right side I think.
