Tubi's V2 exhaust...

The only one that uses cats is the Gruppe M Version 1 which I had and its pretty quiet.

Perry- I suggest the Taitec GT lightweight for you......its loud and aggressive enough plus uses cats. It's also only 16.9 lbs.....I have it and I love it and its really affordable compared to the Gruppe M and others. The only thing is that it is kinda crooked on my car either due to the DC headers or how they make them...something like they are all a little off from each other. Ah whatevers its on there now.

Mike- They give you the piping that replaces the cats and it suppose to be direct bolt on. I did read somewhere some people depending on which headers they used that they had some fitment issues. But if you want to know I suggest asking Alex Vizcarra directly from Gruppe M USA or you can ask Jon Martin(3.8L stroker designer) from Cerritos Acura. I think Jon will be easier to get in contact with than Alex. Plus Jon has direct contact with Alex and many other guys.

I have only seen the titanium one on Alex's car....I can tell you that its a very nice exhaust.

So all Gruppe M exhaust after version 1 does not use cats....Version 2 is no longer in production.....only stainless and Titanium Version 3 are available until they come out with another design.

can people post some vids or sound clips? im really thinking about getting this

I know the loss of cats and costs have been major determining factors keeping this exhaust from from my car. My exhaust search started after I bought a GruppeM for my M3. All Titanium only eleven pounds and only $1300 bucks shipped. Why for godsake does the one for the NSX cost so much and eliminate the cats:confused: The M3 GruppeM exhaust has so far put all my NSX exhausts to shame:frown: I won't be satisfied until I can match that sound on my NSX! I'm just not sure which to try next..sigh

I had lots of differents exhausts, from Tubi V2, to ARK, and lots of custom made ones. I went back to the Gt-Rom v2 Titanium as I believe that Titanium has that hardness that makes it sound so special.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

AR

Wow! The light bulb just went on. I never once considered that it was the metal that was making the difference ,but that actually makes perfect sense. Of course now this makes that $4k even harder for me to resist:frown: I found a different Titanium muffler and hopefully I'll have it by NSXPO.

Well do your research on the sound, quality, performance and looks. Thats what I look for before I spend my money.....It has to have everything on my list before I spend it........I can tell you that Gruppe M does make top notch stuff but it's not cheap. You get what you pay for sometimes......

You know you want it ;) buy it! >=)

If not get the GT lightweight..... it is always a good choice.

You can listen to mine.

I should be at the s2k meet tomorrow night.

I've had plenty of compliments from Ferrari guys on the way it sounds.

As a matter of fact they often think that it's one of their own.

One guy that has a 360 said that it's the best sounding muffler on a NSX that he has heard.

All the ones he's heard didn't sound aggressive.

Bruce- The GT lightweight is 16.9 lbs approximately and the titanium Ver 3 is 9.9lbs. You know what with the 2002 lower valence you can actually see the muffler pretty good......I am picky on how the tips look....for example I like the shave tip look mainly but I do like the circles on the GT lightweight.

Allen- That is a tough call but if money was a consideration then the GT lightweight would be my choice. I spent $2700 on my Gruppe M version 1 muffler only to replace it with the GT Lightweight because I like the sound better plus its a little lighter and probably gained a little bit more. I havent really gotten a chance to hear a tubi on the NSX in person but I am sure its not as light as the GT lightweight......but on video it sounds pretty good. If you have the older lower valence then I like the DTM quad tip style like on the Tubi. But if you have the 2002+ lower valence then I would pick GT lightweight (best bang for the buck), Ver 3 gruppe m stainless or titanium, Gt Rom exhuast, or Tubi with a shaved single tip....I am sure there are other ones out there but I can't think of any that are aggressive. ARC is good too but its kinda quiet from what I was told.

Good luck on whichever you pick they are all nice mufflers....there is no right or wrong....its just a matter of preference. But I am pretty sure the tubi is heavier than the GT lightweight and it costs more. Just based on that I would have bought the GT lightweight......but if you like the sound of the Tubi and you dont care about the weight and the fact that it is probably a grand more than go for it.

Both Tubi and GT Lightweights are mufflers that you will hear evertyime you gas. Unless you use the silencers for the GT lightweight. It is not one of those mufflers that are quiet at low rpm like my Gruppe M Version 1. If that is the case then I suggest ARC, or some of these alternatives......

http://scienceofspeed.com/products/exhaust_airflow_products/NSX/Supersprint/ <---this one might be on the louder side.
http://www.gt-rom.net/gtrom/e_index.htm <---these can be loud depending on which model I am sure some are louder than others.......Vance's car is pretty loud but he has straight pipes too and super duper headers.

FYI that I use the same Taitac GT Lightweight on my Jon Martin stoker motor. And although it makes a terrific sound, I just picked up a used GM V3 to try out on the 3.8L.

If all works out, I will have a "used" (practically new) Taitac to sell in a few weeks. Email me if interested.

Regardless, I will post a sound clip with both versions on a 3.8L.

You don't get any rarer than blue OEM type-S recaros; LBBP + blue type S carbon kevlar seats would look amazing.

Wow Anil! Your car is going to sound wicked regardless!
I can't wait to hear what a V3 will sound like on the 3.8L....did you get the stainless or titanium? Man you are just getting all the goodies!.....mad props on your project!
Please post videos inside, outside, flyby's, camera's all over and no cheesy few second video clips....I think BMI should do a video on your car and have driftking drive the car. =D

John- Those seats are pimp.....im drooling.....=p*** thanks a lot man! You suck! =P

Perry or Allen- I suggest you snatch up the GT lightweight if Anil's sell's it for a good price....The exhuast is basically new and I can vouch for him.......Anil's car is pretty much a car that should be in a Musuem and polished and waxed everyday....=D......You can eat off his car hahahaha! Sorry Anil...I couldn't resist.....your car is too pretty to drive man....=T

I wonder what my CB system weighs.

I simply had the local muffler shop cut off the factory muffler and install two 3.7lbs SS Moroso mufflers in place.

Anyone have any idea of what the pipes weigh?

Batmans- post some video clips of your car I would like to hear a flyby and revving...

I'll need someone to take the audio/video clips.

for audio i can do it now, but for video I want to have my black rims on, which won't happen for a few weeks (wheels on back order).

Perry, did you end up getting those? Spill the beans now...............

OMG I wish. Hopefully the buyer doesn't have an LBBP car and sells them on prime:wink:

This sucks! first the Titanium V3 GruppeM now the seats. Scorp965 and EdiddyNSX should be banned!

They look more like recovered NA1 NSX seats since the passenger seat is the fixed version.
