Was looking to burn some frequent-flier miles and wanted to get some suggestions from folks who've toured this area (ALLAN?)

Suggested stops include:
- Galleria Ferrari (museum) - www.ferrariworld.com
- Lamborghini Automobili Musuem
- Automobili Pagani (makers of Zonda)
- others ?? Ferrari and Lambo factory ?
- scenic mountain drives (probably fly into Milan)

Wanted to find out about:
- arranging access (sufficient to "call ahead" or do you need to know someone)
- contacts and tips
- good / better times to go (crowds, weather)
- places to stay

Please post info here, or send me a private email at [email protected]

Thanks -- Manuel

In the spirit of burning up mileage, NSX Fiesta in Japan is also on the list... separate post.

the lambo factory supposedly dosnt do tours anymore, neither does the ferrari factory. i can definately recommend a very good bed and breakfast to stay at in modena. the lambo factory is about 10 minutes away. you can go to the factory lambo museum and gift shop. i miss that place!

The ferrari factory does have tours if you own a ferrari or are a member of the press you can go to your dealer tell him what dates you can go they will get you in but you will need to give them a few months notice.
They have a new store that opened up on there property with every thing you ever wanted to know about Ferrari books cloths etc.. Worth the trip if you love the F cars.
The test track is there if you go at the right time you can stand at the fence and see them testing there F1 cars. Have a safe trip bring back some pics to post.

Thanks for the suggestions. Have also received private notes from these and other Forums/lists.

Edonis in Campogalliano (actually B. Engineering) makes a limited edition supercar with advanced tire technology from Michelin --> http://www.edonis.it/inglese/index.html

B.Engineering principals include several ex-Bugatti folks. Their Edonis motorcar looks a lot like the Pagani Zonda (see Avatar). Mid-engine rear drive aluminum body (CF chassis) with good power to weight (3.8L TT V12 with 680 hp pushing 2800 lb) -- hmmm, sound familiar? Specs at http://www.edonis.it/inglese/dati.html

On another note, I thought the Bugatti works had shut down in 1995 ??

FYI, the 5th & 6th stages of the European Honda Trophy 2002 are planned at the Monza racetrack (near Milano) for the 13th July.

got this reply from the Lambo lists...

I was on the Car guy tour this March, it was pretty cool.

We went to Ferrari, Lambo, Pininfarina, Bertone, Maserati, Pagani, Edonis, Zagato, & more.

Great food, good company, Frank Mandarano runs things pretty well.

I highly suggest u splurge on the rental car & get a fast powerful 1, u can rent a new mini in Italy now, maybe they have an S
