Tray thingy under the shift console

I hope you guys know which part I'm babbling about... Its the "tray" beside the handbrake, and right underneath the shifter. Whats the purpose of that? Spare change holder?

And I noticed on Japanese NSX's, they usually have like 4 buttons/switches in place of that... What are those for?

I may be mistaken, but once when thumbing through the manual, I think it pointed it out as a coin holder.

Not sure what the buttons and switches are for on those that have them.

If you have teh OEM cell phone, that locations is where the cell phone controls are as well.
