Can you confirm both the 5 and 6 speeds take THREE qts? Dealer tried to tell me the 6 speed took 5.
No jackstand required. Just make sure you have a good jack.
They are the SAME, 3 qts (2.9 if you want to get specific)
There is NO SUCH THING as a "good" jack for this purpose. NEVER get under a car and trust your life to any hydraulic seal. ALWAYS USE A JACK STAND. Floor jacks do not have mechanical locks, there are not safe for getting under the car, EVER.

What if I accidently put more than 3 quarts? Won't hurt anything? It will just keep oozing out until the desired level has been maintained. Then cap it.
Larry,
I would never get under the car without a jack stand. The good part is I don't need to get under the car. I can loosen the drain plug with a 2X4 (resting on the ground against the rachet wrench) and a light tap with a 2 lb hammer to loosen the drain plug. After that eveything else is accessible from the wheel well without having to get under the car.

Another great thing about the NSX is the three jack points per side. Jack up the car using the middle point, and put stands under the front and rear points. It makes me wonder though, how it's done on cars with just the front and rear jack points. Where do the stands go?
The stands would go under the jack points, and typically you would raise the car using the suspension arms or a strong chassis member.
Your comments were not clear on that, and people may take that as get under there without a jack stand. Glad you do not.

Larry,
I love my life too much.
I am.This schedule says every 24 months. Are people not doing it that soon?
Yup. Not only does this help with jack stands, but it's also handy when you just have to swap wheels and tires (like for track use); you only have to jack up the side of the car once to swap both wheels/tires on that side. I found another advantage recently, when I had a flat tire (blowout, actually). The flat had lowered that corner so much that I couldn't fit the jack under the jacking point next to that wheel, so I just used the middle one.Another great thing about the NSX is the three jack points per side.
What is the LATEST consensus (did a search already) on the best tranny fluid. Don't know if it makes a difference but I have the SC/'R&P. Use Redline and it's sometimes hard to get into gear. Larry B.?
