Top speed. What does it take....

I've never heard that stated before, never seen it reflected in any of the magazine tests. Do you have a published reference for that?

VMAx day at Bruntingthorpe (runway in Leicester) - myself and another 02+ car both had speedos nudging 180 when going through the timing beams (laser timing had us at 164/165)

Chances are if you have never heard it, its probably not true. :)

Chances are that you are wrong.

Most if not all factory speedos are calibrated at 62mph / 100kph and at that speed you will get your most accurate reading. The further away you migrate from 62mph/100kph in either direction, the more variation you will encounter from your actual speed.

Dave what kind of distance are you aiming to hit 200mph in? Have any NSX's competed in the Texas mile events? I believe around the country there are some other mile events being held which is the safest place to attempt a top speed run. Here is an entertaining video of the record Supra mile car @ 247mph! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLhl-74AnQ4
P.S. I looked on google and youtube for any info on NSX's running the mile and couldn't find anything.

Oscar_driver did a standing mile in Florida I believe. His car is a 3.2 with your I/h/e bolt one. His car hit 150 mph in the standing mile which is damn is damn impressive. If you go to YouTube you see other cars needing well over 400 HP tohit 150 in the mile. In fact I just remebered Oscar has his video on YouTube. His speedo was pretty damn close to the official timing equipment.
