In researching tint, I came across this: http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showpost.php?p=3783641&postcount=200

The dude tinted his front windshield 35% (all the way across)!!! Not only is it highly illegal in pretty much all states, but it's pretty dangerous as well. If he ever gets into an accident, he would be probably blamed due to the tint on the front windshield.

Thought I had seen it all, LOL... I wonder who the dufus tint installer is that agreed to install 35% on the front windshield.

Never understood why anyone would want to tint their windsheild.

They do this in Taiwan and perhaps in other Southeast Asian countries(Philippines maybe? It's been a super long time since I was there last so don't remember) and I believe the reason is the hot sun during the summer months. It's silly but everyone does it.

However, the tint is not the 35% dark tint from the OP's link but more of a reflective although not quite mirror tint.

I read in a thread here on prime that its legal in Hawaii.

I saw a blacked-out BMW in Menlo Park (CA) over the weekend that had a tinted front windshield, as well driver and passenger windows - all the glass. The guy went whole hog - black wheels, not a bit of chrome, even had a black-and-silver BMW roundel.

I drove an e class with the front windshield tinted because the customer had it done for medical reasons and it was a terrible experience i had a headache within 5 mins lol.

Won't lie, looks pretty nice but not the smartest thing to do

I could see a very light tinting making sense under certain conditions. I ride at night with my tinted motorcycle helmet with some regularity simply because taking an additional shield everywhere is not practical. Riding without a tinted shield can be extremely dangerous. Yes you cannot see as well at night, but reducing the glare from on coming cars almost neutralizes the negative aspects IMO. Driving on country roads or anywhere totally lacking light, which is bound to happen in your daily driver, is not wise with even light tinting. This is coming from a young gun with excellent vision.

Thats why I use a clear face shield and wear sunglasses. If it gets dark, the sunglasses go in my pocket.

One of my followers, perhaps....

On the contrary, I would have to say this is a great idea!!.... if you lived at the North Pole in the summer when it's sunny 24 hrs a day and the light is constantly reflecting off the snow..

Photokeratitis aka Snow Blindness

Still would not sun glasses be a better option as you could use them when your not in the car as well.
