So i've decided to tint my windows this weekend, the dealer who is doing the job is skilled but have never seen a NSX before and very scared to even touch it. So i've told him to help out with removing the back window, and making sure he can access the entire side windows.

Seeing i've had the NSX a month, my skills are limited and i'm also scared:wink:

1. Removing the window over the engine, it seems easly removed so that tinting process is made easier. Am i right? and is there something I should be aware off?

2. He needs to access the sidewindow which also is behind the door handles, looking at the "howto remove bose speakers" i figoured how to remove most of the door, but will the handles still be a problem? And is there something i should be aware of here, i'm kinda afraid the window will snap and never come back:eek:

3. Ok long post probably about nothing, but any inputs will be nice. I'm gonna keep the doors "open" cause i've ordered the parts to repair the bose speaker, and the "window-fix-it" from SoS.

Wish me luck?^^

There is no need to remove the back window or any part of the doors. If this dealer can't do the tint without you having to dismantle the car don't let them do it.

He says the outdoor handle is stopping him from getting the tint on the entire window, if he had to cut, it might not be just as good.

Backdoor window, I kinda suggested it, i didnt feel like them crawling over the car and destroying my paint:redface:

I know that when my car was tinted that they didn't have to remove any part of the door or outside handle. A good tint shop should be albe to do the job without removing anything on an NSX.

Listen to these guys... I have a friend that has his own shop, and I have watched him do amazing things with window-tint. I guarantee it can be done, and I would not leave my car with someone that doesn't trust their own abilities...

I agree 100% with the above comments.

I tinted my windows myself. I ordered precut 3M tint off E-Bay for an NSX and it fit perfectly. The only part I removed from the car was the inner window felt towards the bottom of window which allowed me to squeegee the water "below" the felt and have the tint completly flush below the felt as well..

Other then that everything lined up and fit perfectly. As far as the back window, again, I did a test fit from the outside, shrunk the tint with a heat gun around the curved areas and then installed it while on the car. Perfect outcome!

Good luck!

Go somewhere else!
I had my windows tinted by a shop that works on many high end cars and they did a excellent job on my NSX. There is no need to remove anything. The trickiest part is tinting the rear hatch because of its rounded shape but even then a experienced shop will know exactly what to do.

Good luck!

When I got my car done it took them like 40 min. Nothing was removed. They did both side windows, rear cockpit glass, and hatch.

Thanks for all the input, sadly i dont have many options where i live (yes its quite a small town). I'll have a new chat with the company tomorrow, hopefully it can be worked out.

Do you guys have ting behind the outside door handle? or did you just get it cut around the corners there?
