I was just looking to get some insurance quotes for sportbikes online and it asked for any accidents or tickets in the past 35 months. If I got a ticket (left turn where prohibited) but took a defense driving course to dismiss it, do I have to tell the insurance company that I got that ticket? Or can I just declare that I got zero ticket because I took the defensive driving course and thus dismissed?

Thanks,

The only people who know that you had a ticket dismissed are the court that allowed you to take DD, and the DPS in Austin (well, I guess by that logic, I think all cops can look it up).

That is the entire point of dismissing tickets with DD, so that insurance company never finds out.

I've had numerous tickets dismissed over the last 10 years (both DD and deferred adjudication), and my insurance companies never noticed, even when I switched.

Note to anyone else reading this: the above comments only apply to Texas, other states will vary wildly.
