Posted this in the media section, but I figured you local boys might want to take a look at it too if you miss it over there. :D

Three of the local Kansas City NSX'ers got together today to film a few videos as we all have different exhausts. Thought it could be fun to share some videos for fellow NSX owners when they're shopping for exhaust.

Primarily, I'm doing some before and after clips as I just recently ordered NSXPrime member Angus' new exhaust (more info can be seen here. I'll hopefully be getting the exhaust this week so I can do a flyby in the same location so that fellow shoppers can see the difference it can make on a stock car versus a car with that exhaust.

First, we'll take a look at the suspects!

My NSX:
1992 Berlina Black, essentially stock engine wise. All I have is a Cantrell AIS and Unifilter.

Next, we have Tony's NSX. His Prime username is Ready2Huynh, I believe.
1991 Berlina Black, Cantrell Headers, Downforce Induction Scoop, Taitec GTLW, stock cats.

Finally, we have Gary's NSX. His Prime username is Zipy.
1991 Formula Red, Comptech Headers, Flowmaster exhaust, stock cats, no intake resonator.

Now, for the videos:

First, let's look at my car... stock exhaust

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ul6Q-uQ30rw&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ul6Q-uQ30rw&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Next, we'll look at a car that's a little bit louder... Tony's car with Cantrell Headers and a Taitec GTLW.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1ZSYr1IauxA&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1ZSYr1IauxA&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/y43ExTNcoYE&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/y43ExTNcoYE&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Lastly, I found Gary's NSX with Comptech Headers and a custom Flowmaster exhaust to be the loudest:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/fC6zaFLHVEo&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/fC6zaFLHVEo&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/yH_4R5pQCMc&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/yH_4R5pQCMc&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Now, after I get my exhaust, I plan on heading back to the same location and filming another quick flyby to show off the difference between Angus' new exhaust and stock exhaust, as well as provide a direct comparison between seemingly popular options like the GTLW or Flowmaster exhaust. So eventually we'll have a fourth exhaust to add to the list and I'm hoping I can also get a local NSX'er with Comptech Headers, test pipes, catback, and CTSC (Hi Joseph! :D) to film a quick vid as well.

Hope you guys enjoy! :)

hmm I thought the flowmasters would be a lower exhaust sound does anybody have a NSX with just flowmasters on it and no aftermarket headers?

I started out with just the flowmaster and no headers. It was pretty much the same, just a few decibels more with the addition of the headers. And thanks Pete for the good work!

Pete,
i may be getting a fn-09 exhaust. I have soundclips of my comptech already on prime somewhere?

Joseph, get that engine up and running yet? And what is an fn-09?

Joseph, an FN09 would be interesting to hear in person! I just couldn't bring myself to dump that kind of money on 4 feet of piping to be honest. I had a hard enough time dumping the cash on the exhaust that's on the car now.

Got the new Angus exhaust on Friday night... here's the result. Utilized what is likely the last half-way decent day in Kansas City today to film a few flyby videos. :D

Let a friend (Zipy on Prime) drive my NSX so I could hear it from the outside...

Pete, i see the FN-09 for sale for the same price as your exhaust right now. I may be purchasing it for market research....i have some of the best welders working with me now on some other items.

Where at? I haven't seen it for less than $2300 or so! I still dunno if I would've ultimately went for it... the spaghetti piping may be okay for sound up top, but it still sounds a bit raspy... not to mention the fact that it wouldn't shock me if you lost power compared to even a stock exhaust with it.
