I'm not in the immediate path of the eye of the storm, but it's going to smack me around a bit here in Boca.

I do want to let everyone know that I have arranged secure parking for the NSX. So, if my house blows away at least I'll be able to sleep in the car.

I just talked to my sister who is on her honeymoon and right in the path of the storm. She is not able to get a flight out at all over the next two days. She has been trying to rent a car and no luck there either. Looks like a big one for sure.

Doc, Sleeping in the NSX is not so bad ;) I have installed all my hurricane shutters and my NSX is in my garage. GOOD Luck up there. :p

Good luck guys, hunker down and get through this one safely!

Did you guys hear about that guy south of Orlando that Charley blew the roof off his barn that was full of $50 million worth of vintage Avanti's, Ferrari's etc? Noone knew that he had them in there. They were all dusty and have been there for decades. A while back he owed the IRS $400k, so they confiscated some guns and cars, that was worth $20 mil!!!!! He finally gave them a $600k check to get them back!

This weeks edition of Autoweek has the story! http://www.autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=100753

I'm going stir crazy sitting around waiting for the storm to land. I went out earlier for dinner (thank you Sushi Masa) and it is a ghost town here.

I guess it's better to be bored than hurt and homeless. Thanks for the well wishes and everyone north of me take care of yourself.

When I decided to move to Florida from California every one asked, aren't you worried about hurricanes?

I explained that I would be living on the West Coast and there hadn't been a hurricane through there is over 80 years.

My 1st nine months here and I get to experience two. NICE! Not!

Well good news! I was safe for the past two days and never lost power at my parents or my house. There are tons of trees down in my community, but no damage to any homes. We never lost power, and the cable just went out this morning. I can say this, having just gone through my first hurricaine, hearing 90+mph winds whipping around isn't much fun for 12 hrs. Now I just have to go pick up my NSX and everything will be back to normal for me.

I fail to see anything remotely funny about this.

I have to agree. I am a quite aways from where the eye past over the state yesterday but we still got some serious weather all day and night. It is a helpless feeling looking outside and watching the trees snap and the power transformers explode and the whole sky turns green. It FREAKED me out seeing that happen.
I can't imagine how bad it must be down further south. I dread having to go thru this again. :(
