 this is a really random question but how many of you guy like The Outfield. I was listening to all my collection of music and I ran into there music and I forgot how much I liked it befor and now I cat stop listening to them. Any one else like them of am I the only one.?

1985 Play Deep..Awesome CD!!

now, if I can only find my NIN: Pretty Hate Machine cd, I will be ok. I can't seem to get NIN out of my head. It was my ulitmate driving cd.

oh well, yeah whatever happened to the Outfield?

Man, don't get me started on 80's bands. I remember the days when MTV was good. Outfield would be on that list. My wife (who is my age) listens to rap and pop that just makes be what to put a bullet in my head. And she thinks the crap is good music. Aaaackkkkkkkk.

I really have a limited taste, buy my list would include:

Crowded House
Divynils
Tears for Fears
Ratt (yeah, glam rules)
Tom Dolby

Some of the reason I like some of these bands is because they spent time and money to produce a well sounding CD. You can crank them up on a good sound system.

Eh, the list is pretty short.........For a newer CD that reminds me of how music used to be made / produced, I highly recommend Nik Kershaw's "15 minutes".

this are some on of the one I just love.

The Outfield

Motley Crue

Bangles

A Flock of Seagulls

Billy Idol

Well at least this are the ones I have on now at work.

Who are The Outfield?

I never was a "flockhead" but yeah, definitely Bangels, Idol (flesh for fantasy) and some Crew.

Did you ever get into Scritti Politi? They had some cool B-side stuff that really made a car stereo work.

Of the newer stuff, I have a real hard time finding anything of interest. What I do like include:

Alice and Chains (not that new, the singer's dead)
Stone Temple Pilots
Filter

I've never got into NIN, but if I made the effort it would probably pay off. The stuff I hear is interesting.

Just listen to Head Like A Hole really loud on a good system. You will like it.

The Outfield rocks.....
a lot of my friends in high school called me outfield.. cause i wouldn't stop singing 'your love'... best song ever..

from the "newer" music I like GNR allot.

I also like Depeche Mode from the 80's. I really don't like the new music they have after like 1992 in went down with Nirvana . GNR was the last great band there was. Now all they have is a bunch of idiots scream and some guy who plays 3 power cords acting like he is a musician. What the hell is the world coming to.

no more

Slash's
Jimmy's
and no more good music. :(

Now this is my kind of thread. I love the Outfield also.
I also liked the album by them called 'Diamond Days'.
Some of my other favs from that time frame
Poison
Sheriff
ZZ Top
GNR
Duran Duran
Paula Abdul
Power Station
and the list could go on and on.....

I remember when MTV actually played music videos and you didn't have to order MTV2 to watch videos. Remember before TRL, they had the top 10 countdown. The last greatest thing I remember about MTV was when Motley Crue's "Without You" was going head to head with Skid Row's "I Remember You." They went back and forth as number 1 and number 2 for several weeks. It was best!

I totally agree. My wife is about 7yrs my junior and she likes watching MTV now. I hate it because like you said, they don't play videos anymore, just these fake reality shows.
I have never seen the Motley Crue's "Without You" video. I love the song though !!

Do you remember 24 hours of True Blue?
The tape Play Deep was stuck in my B210 tape player for about six months. I love the Outfield but for a while there it was getting pretty monotonous.
